There's a slight nuance here right?
We can register 17 NHG players. And 8 HG players. But out of those 8 HG players, 4 need to have been LFC youth.
We can't have 17 Salahs (NHG), & 8 Guehi's (Home grown nation), cause then we dont have 4 LFC youth players.
We can have 17 Salahs (NHG), & 4 Guehi's & 4 empty spaces.
We can also have 17 Salahs (NHG), 4 Guehi's (Home grown Nation) and 4 Bradleys (Home grown Club).
Which basically means Guehi can't "replace" Trent's registration from last year, so if we had a lot of Home Grown Nation players we'd want to register it might be an issue.
The HG players we have that we need to register are:
Club: Jones
Nation: Gomez, Elliott, Frimpong + Guehi
(At least i think Gomez & Elliott were signed 'too old' to qualify as Home Grown club)
Basically this means that our 4 Home Grown Nation spots would be fulfilled with Gomez, Elliott, Guehi & Frimpong. That means that if we want to register the Italian kid it will cost an A list spot.
Of course in Gethin's list above there's 2 spots free so we could still register Isak and Leoni.
So, as Gethin says: "We're fine on HG slots even if Guehi signs - for both PL and CL".
