Aye but we're on a poor run and have very low confidence. Its sensible to go back to basics ie firstly ensure you dont concede, especially from a set piece.
Carra obviously played RB as insurance for Skrtel who had a shocking debut aginst Havant. The lad has to get experience somehow and playing alongside Sammi and Carra obviously worked as he had a much stronger 2nd game. Granted though Lucas left midfield is very baffling.
Masch will be one of the best players in the world in his position in the not too distant future. - More than that though he has guts, determination and a never say die attitude, qualities which are particularly relevant in our present predicament and for that he should be the first name on the team sheet atm
"Meanwhile, contrary to reports elsewhere, the deal to complete Javier Mascherano's permanent move to Liverpool has yet to be finalised." From the Offal
There are some players that I would not expect self motivated commitment from - for example players like Crouch who are not playing regularly. There are other players though who the manager has put a lot of faith in (whether they like him personally or not) who should be expected to put 100% shifts in regardless of any feelings of frustration
I agree with beejay, despite everything it is only Rafa who is remaining consistent, be it tactics, team selection or even after match interviews. It is the owners, the players and especially the fans that are swaying wildly at the moment.
Its often said that you get to know a lot about a player when the chips are down and things arent going too well - isnt it interesting then that Masch has been our MOM on more occasions than any other player over the last few months.
Kop90 the owners WANTED to put the entire refinanced debt onto the club despite saying they wouldnt do a Glazier when they first took over. We dont really know why they didnt in the end but many suspect it was the intervention of Moores and Parry plus fan disquiet that swung it. Personally I think they refinanced as they did becase they stand to make more money from DIC in any takeover that may or may not be going through as we speak.
