Away fans have been incredible, cringing at the 'sacked' chants though. -
Glad Klopp is over before fireworks night. He can overturn a lot of damage done in the war by taking a ball out to Sefton Park and chip our bommie.
-
Make that two, although I agree fair play they had obviously been on the ale but getting the reaction out as quickly as they did was great work and I enjoyed most of it. I look forward to more sober reactions over the coming days.

I can never happily take a defeat to these, I'd rather suffer a little more under Rodgers than not win today.

It's the me v them that's annoying people.

I don't even know where to begin with people thinking we will lose, this is an easy three points that will paper over the cracks nicely.

So tell me more about this jacking in matches?

“We were disappointing today,” Rodgers said at his post-match press conference. “We arrived into the game with confidence high but when you give away a goal so early in the game, it gave West Ham the boost and the lift that they needed, because they have shown in their two games away from home now that they can sit in and defend in a low block well. That seemed to set us back a bit. “We obviously then conceded a second goal, which was difficult to take. All of a sudden we were right up against it. “Coutinho getting sent off, which I thought was extremely harsh, set us back. From that first period in the game, we never really got going. “It was the overall performance. I felt we disappointed right from the off, really. “Once we conceded that early goal, we just couldn’t get back into the game again. Our overall performance with and without the ball will be much better in the future.” The manager continued: “Up until today, the morale and confidence has been really high and we’ve been developing and improving. “We know today a lot of it was self-inflicted in relation to the result. We gave poor goals away and that was the biggest disappointment. “I’m lucky that I work with a very honest group who work very hard on the training field. There’s a lot of analysis behind that as well and we’ll now get ready for the next game. “At this level, you have to be able to bounce back – and that’ll be the job in the next game.” Many Reds players now depart for international duty, with Liverpool back in action with a trip to Manchester United in a fortnight’s time. But Rodgers and his squad will carefully assess what went wrong against West Ham, as they do after each fixture, before that clash at Old Trafford. The Northern Irishman said: “We'll learn from it. “In both winning and a defeat, we'll always analyse every game, it's not just when you lose. When we've won games and drawn games over the course of the first three, we've sat with the players and analysed the areas where we can improve and the good elements of it. “So it'll be no different to this game, it's still the same. You have to be better and you want to be better in your next game and that'll be the case once the players get back from international duty.” Rodgers added: “It’s going to be a real difficult league to get your home wins in. “For us, our concentration is to win here at home – we love playing here and the support has been brilliant for us. “Today we disappointed. In the first three games we’ve given them that hope again, but today we’re all disappointed. “We’ve got seven points out of 12, the players will go away internationally, they’ll come back, we’ll re-focus again and look to put in a much better performance away from home [at Manchester United].”

Not been beaten by West Ham at Anfield since 1963. Christ that was bad, we really needed the points from them today. I fear it's only going to get worse.
-
That was 2002 and we came back from Arsenal scoring to get 1-1. The only 0-0 around that time was in 1999 and Murphy wasn't playing. In fact that was the last time we drew 0-0 with Arsenal (away) since Monday night. Neither of these games saw our keeper booked.
-
Yes Pepe was notorious for telling ball boys and stewards to not return the ball. Funnily enough when we were winning and to bag the three points. I don't recall it happening when it was a draw in a league game. It's a common tactic used by lower teams when they visit us. I'm going round in circles here so I'll stop before I get dizzy.

When we were winning yes, I don't seem to recall it when we were drawing in a league match to one of the top teams. There's nothing wrong with shutting up shop when you have the three points, as I said it's a small team tactic. I'm not saying that's what we are or that's what the point was, it just niggled. There were other factors at play so it's not a huge criticism just something I hope is not repeated as we progress. Something I'd expect to read on a Stoke, Watford etc forum after a game at Anfield or Chelsea or Arsenal. Not something I'm used to reading about us. Expectations truly dropped. I'm just annoyed because we should and could have been comfortably winning that game at half time, then shut up shop and taken the coming onslaught. I can accept that Arsenal will hopefully be one of the teams we compete with for a top four place. In that case not losing to them is important. It's probably nothing and I doubt we will see a repeat. Maybe it was actually just the keeper waiting for us to get forward for the long kick, I didn't notice our outfield players wasting much time so I'm obviously just being a little sensitive to the whole thing. Otherwise I thought Mig was brilliant, he kept us in the game.
-
He was warned early on, long before he was carded. I realise there are other factors at play and it's not a huge criticism but it still niggles me. As I said, mainly because it's a small team tactic to scrape a point at a top team. I don't recall ever seeing it from us in a league game when we had 11 men and it was to hold on for a point.
-
How many times in the past has our keeper been booked for time wasting when we are drawing in a league away game to one of the top sides? For all the good things to come from the other night that still niggles me, I've seen far too many little teams come for the point at Anfield. Hopefully unless its a cup game or we are winning we won't see that again.
-
Exactly, the aim is to qualify for the CL. We need a manager and a squad that can deal with playing in the CL and maintaining a league position to qualify. Although just having to say that takes me sad at how far we've dropped and how low our expectations have fallen.

Joke of a booking for Mig there.
