Who?

Alright so I’m a little slow… still better than our midfield this season though.

I think he needs to start deeper. Having our defensive line at halfway or do far forward, you’re asking a lot of our attack to find space in the final third especially when the opposition have 10 behind the ball too. id like to see him with the play in front of him, rather than back to goal. See if he can release Wirtz or the wingers better than our central defenders.

Turns out new contract isn’t signed. based on Arsenal people, genuine interest and progress. Maybe contract posturing from agent? anyone here know?

At least if he doesn’t have any, he won’t pulling his hair out in this team.

Yep if he just stayed a little deeper then we wouldn’t be relying on our center backs to be creative from halfway line.

We signed 3 players over a 100mil and turned down 75mil for another from our first choice front 4. We also have an 18 year old prodigy and another 23 year old signed and a 75mil striker coming back in the new year. I think we have invested for a Salah output replacement.

115m wasn’t it? Over 5 years? His book value will be 70mil in the summer 2027. Anything more than that would be a paper profit.

One of the few playing with heart and intent. And acting like a leader.

Our mentality looked so off too. lots of head shakes, pointing etc. no one leading, talking or lifting the team. The team looked rudderless.

I would actually play the midfield. Clearly they aren’t getting what they need to do. Get them, kerkez and tsimi and half each and 90 for Frimpong, it’s practice game. A free hit. Use it as a training game.

Should have played nyoni - perfect game for him.

Given his position in the field, he has to spend time watching us too. Must be frustrating standing there having watched klopps team to now having to watch this.

Anyone got any tactical insight on why when teams are sitting deep, our defence has the ball? logically, does it not make sense to have grav and dom where Virgil is, and have them make the passes forward into Wirtz and wide areas?

I think it can be coached. Will take time and another summer to fix Hughes neglect. But potential is there. luckily none of our competitors won either, so we didn’t fall further behind.

Those are the games he was brought in to change. He hasn’t yet. surely he knows he needs to step up now. If players aren’t moving where he needs to, he needs to tell them. his role is the conductor. Conduct.

Reflections in morning after. that was still s***e. wirtz stunk. Been biggest fan, but starting to think it’s time to move on. He was brought in for games when defences sat in. He passed the ball forward twice maybe? full backs will get there with more training. iraola - we knew it would take time. Let’s give him time. Slot’s damage was deep, will take a while to reverse, as with hughless transfers. We need to redo midfield. Jacquet was great again, Isak was better I thought. can’t be having that type of performance again. Doesn’t matter how tired you are. I’d play midfield again on in milk cup. Need practice.

And they had 24 touches in our box, we had 18 in theirs.

3 shots on target and Fulham had more corners.

To win a pen, you need to be in their box. To win corners you need to attack their goal line.

Wow. at least when they did that under slot, it was by design. this was lack of effort. taking easy options, sloppy passes, no running, no care. sack the midfield. Time to bench Wirtz. Try dom there. Or gakpo. Or Gomez. Something. yes they defended with 10. But to not even knock is just appalling.

No shot on target in last 20 minutes.

Yep they showed no heart today. id send them all out vs spurs again. Complete lack of care.

Wow did someone attempt a forward pass? Think it was Dom!

I don’t think we touch the ball again in their gk area.
