I think it was reported that we got £35m for him and the buyback is €55m after 2027. So if he has a couple of good years out there, it’ll have cost £17m ish to get him experience that he wouldn’t have got here. Reckon that’s a good deal myself

Right on both counts from what was put out there after the transfer. Won’t be a factor next season let alone 27/28

Slot made it very clear he wasn't going to play him, so best for player and us to move him on where he'll have a chance to develop his game time. I'd have kept him - but no point if he's not gonna play much

We sold a player that Slot didn't fancy and obviously wasn't going to use much. We signed a player to replace him that looked great, but suffered a freak injury.

Given that we'd almost certainly have to play at least one KO round against another PL team, I'd say "fanciful" is putting it mildly. -

It really hasn’t. Our forms been consistently like this since the start of September. The only thing that’s changed is the advantage winning those first few games gave us has been eroded

Part of being a great coach is being able to adapt to the situations that happen during the season. His refusal to adjust Mo’s role, leaving him largely isolated on the wing is one of his big failures this season. Is Mo the player he was? No. Could he have been used better? Absolutely

Agreed. I'm also loathe to judge the players on this season. When you're playing in with poor leadership and little structure, it's easy for your game to deteriorate. I reckon we'll see some serious rebounds in some of the team with a change of leadership

If that happens it's a really s*** excuse - we spend what we earn and we've been earning CL money this season. More likely it would affect the summer after if anything.

I don't want it to happen - but I think there's a good argument to be made that being out of the CL and FA Cup would benefit us in trying to qualify for the CL next season. After all we've seen what an advantage it is when we have no midweek game to enable us to prepare for a big game at the weeke.... Oh.
