As far as I know. we made overtures Jimmylibel knows this too as I made hints on the Genny Footie Forum in May. We were snffing around heavily. I've no report of what price offers went in but we did have an interest and I did report that he was going to Nowcassel in February/March time. It was sorted as far back them but there was a chance we could intervene. Anny Road's theory on the price differential is the only theory that mekes sense TBH as why we'd be knocked back in favour of the Black Jacks and also a certain Mark Gonzalez as every cabbie in Dublin seems to think.

Agree on both accounts. Think we'll get Alves.. I'd be plaeased to see him arrive Monday at the Adidas press conference(as he's sponsored by them). And buying Pennant, is like sponsoring Bruce's "Pot to P** in" for transfers.

A lad I know told me that Duff was set for Newcastle.. Very good source. I mentioned it back then on the General Football Forum. Also told me that we were sniffing.

Yeah we were. He does prefer it up North though. A move to North London might not appeal to him because of that but the fact he'll be playing does.
