I'm not sure either of these things are okay... I mean, sure, the World Cup is held in a country and it's supposed to incorporate some traditions and customs into the feel of the WC. Vuvu-fukin-zelas and the like. The Mexican wave, Diana Ross missing a penalty... etc, etc... What it's not supposed to have is the winning captain draped in local dress and half the crowd ****ing off at half time. Either you host the World Cup or you host your own tin-pot version.

So someone who never had reason to ever fall out with someone thinks they're dead sound. Despite people who did have reason to fall out with someone calling him a right old c***. Have you got any more of these stories?

Yeah, I think trophies and money will appeal to 100% of footballers. That's kinda how they recruit. We have to be able to offer the possibility of trophies (with added twist of winning them with a better club, better fans etc) and money, well, we're never gonna compete with the money that they're paying for Haaland.

I don't see the problem with Bobby. Yes, he's not quite as good as he was, but if he was, he'd be starting every week regardless of who else we had fit. As it is, he doesn't start if the rest of the forwards are fit. He's 31 and not 27. He won't be as good when he's 33 as he is now, but he'll still be good enough to play a further reduced role. If not it means we've signed someone better anyway.

I dunno, he looked creative when we played Benfica.

I thought bobbys pen was bloody brilliant. Except the not going in the goal bit. It dipped and swerved like a 25 yard free kick.

I think that's football. Sometimes you get punished for mistakes, sometime you don't, sometimes you punish others, sometimes you don't. Though I agree we've got a team at the moment that does seem to get hit in the same ways. Which is where we're at. Still pretty good though. Just that we've been hit time and again this season in a lot of 1/10, 1/20 ways, but it's happened 1/2, 1/3, 1/5 times. That happens. Just the law of averages. We could have lost today, easily, the hit the post 4 or so times. The hit Allison in the face from point blank. We'd both a feel a lot worse if that that would have happened, but it didn't. For once. :) Long may it continue.

Another weekend of sh!te results bar Chelsea getting beat. Shame they were beat by another team ahead of us in the league.

Hmmm. I don't think we're that much worse. We could easily be 6 or 7 points better off without much. Tonight a clear example. That game had a draw/late Liverpool winner written all over it. We've got a soft centre and we're having some awful luck. that's a problem but we're not awful. No more awful than other teams.
