  1. e) If I say Liverpool Way enough times maybe they won't notice the rest of this statement is b******s.
  2. Its noticeable in the warm ups before the game. When Pako was here, they all used to come out and do things properly and you could see a purpose in them, even then. These days, some young lads takes them, they all f*** about and do whatever they want. We're missing a number two big time.
  3. I agree with that. My suspicion is Crouch has for a long time resisted signing a new contract. Rafa is no fool and would have had him sign a new one even if he was going to sell him this summer. He gets a hard for not sticking with players, sticks with Kuyt and gets slaughtered because it doesn;t work out. Crouch is coming up to 12 months left on his contract; if we sell and get a s*** price for him Rafa will get stick for that too. Lose-lose situation, but surely he will play Crouch more form here on in ?
  4. http://www.soccerex.com/london/latest-news/4.html Bit off, them leaking names of who is attending, but Hicks, Hicks Jnr and Ayre attending a conference together in London, as the only representatives from LFC. Don't take this as any kind of relationship or sign of communication between them though. Honest........ Don't want anyone thinking Ayre is Hicks man at the club or anything like that ......

    Riise

Made for Fucking Idiots Definitely Riises house.
  6. Dalglish: Time to get behind Rafa KENNY DALGLISH was this year’s winner of the Bill Shankly Memorial award and the Liverpool legend used his acceptance speech to back current Reds boss Rafa Benitez. Accepting the award from Benitez and former team-mate Ian Rush, Dalglish told the audience at the ECHO Arena that the time has come for everyone at Anfield to get behind the Spaniard. He said: “The troubles at the club that have been well documented in the media have certainly not done the manager of the players any favours. “It is time for everyone to get right behind the manager because there is only one person who should be in charge at the football club and that is the manager.” Dalglish also paid a warm tribute to Shankly, whom tried to sign him for Liverpool when he was just 15 years old. “I came down from Glasgow and played in a practice game against Southport when I was 15. Shanks wanted to sign me then but I was really shy at that stage and it didn’t happen. “But although I was never fortunate enough to play under the great man I know full well that he laid the principles down for all of us who have been fortunate enough to play for this great club to follow. “Without the qualities he brought to the club I don’t think the club would be what it is today. “And make no mistake about it, Liverpool is a very special club and I still have a very strong attachment to it, “I regard Merseyside as my home and all my kids grew up here and I regard myself as having been very privileged to have played a small part in the history of this great club. “I was very fortunate to play under some great managers and in teams with some great players so when I look back I have to be very grateful for everything I achieved as a player. “When I first signed in 1977 John Toshack gave me two bits of advice – don’t lose your accent and don’t over-eat, So at least I got one right!@ Asked by compère Jeff Stelling of Sky Sports fame what advice he would offer to any would-be managers, Dalglish replied: “Turn Sky Sports off of a Saturday afternoon!” http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/liverpool-f...00252-20436951/
  7. It was a light hearted comment from me, as all of the post was supposed to be. Doesn't come across very well on a forum. Quote : The 2001-02 season was to have been Ferguson's last as Manchester United manager, and the looming date of his retirement was cited by many as a reason for the team's loss of form. Ferguson himself admitted that the decision to pre-announce his retirement had resulted in a negative effect on the players and on his ability to impose discipline. I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but even Ferguson said he was undermined and couldn't discipline his players properly. Points stands he said himself he couldn't discipline them properly, yet he was nowhere near as undermined as Rafa is by the American t***s.
  8. You've made up the bit about them falling away again. Also on the article you've mentioned Ferguson himself is quoted as saying they played s*** because he was undermined by his leaving and couldn't discipline them effectively. Plus we did the double on them that year / If you want to go all Kaizer on me heres a link for you.
  9. when was that again? Mancs 2001 - League Champions 80 points 2002 - 3rd place 77 pts 2003 - League Champions 83 pts 2004 - 3rd place 75 pts 2005 - 3rd place 77 pts 2006 - 2nd 83 points It was 2001-2002. In December they were in 9th position, 11 points behind us and we had a game in hand. Half way through the season he decided to stay. Their league form saw a huge turnaround but they won nothing that year.
  10. Hicks has spent months purposefully trying to destroy Rafa and his authority at the club. Of course that is going to affect us on the pitch. I didn't say you can't judge him Sutty; I said everything is out of whack at the moment, so you can't judge him by what is happening at the moment. Look at what happened to the Mancs in the year Ferguson was going to leave. They went to pieces on the pitch, yet Ferguson wasn't undermined anything like Rafa has been.
  11. 1. Lets not talk about blame; and some folk may not give a s*** about Malouda, but having him would transform our team at the moment. Rafa didn't choose Kuyt over Alves - we couldn't get the extra couple of mill for him (it was 12-14 at the time), Moores scraped together 10 mill himself and we bought Kuyt at the last minute. Regardless of blame, the fact is Rafa has consistently identified targets, who we haven't landed. Importantly, these are all in positions we are weakest in. Rafa is aware as us of where we are s*** and has tried to address those positions. His outburst after the CL final tells me he is sick and tired of not landing his targets. 2. Hicks has made clear he hasn't wanted Rafa involved in transfers and before that he was reliant on Krusty. We're up against the Mancs and Chavs spending 20mill a player, Wenger has had 11 years on his youth policy and we've had Rafa dependant on f***ing Parry, with Moores scraping coppers together. On top of that Hicks has spent the last few months trying to destroy Rafa. Rafa has been playing on a ridiculously unlevel playing field. Madness to judge him on whats happening at the moment.
  12. Point is Cobs they've all been Rafas first choice targets; people who he has told the club he wants. We could have got them all for reasonable outlay; Rafas outburst after the CL final amongst other things makes me think he is sick of not getting first choice targets. Imagine how different our squad would have been this term with Vidic, Simao, Alves, Malouda and Heinze.
  13. With his constant moaning about all sorts of crap, since the day he arrived in England, I find it hard to believe Malouda is capable of being diplomatic. As for Vidic, by your definition, we spoke to him first we didn't close the deal then the Mancs stepped in and signed him. We have a history of missing out on Rafas first choice targets - apart from Vidic and Malouda, theres Heinze, Simao and Alves, to name but three others. So we have a history of missing out on Rafas first choice targets, for whatever reason, plus Rafa has been working on a shoestring since he got here. Imagine how different our team would look if we had got his targets. Have a word with Stevie, Elisha. Rafa has many shortcomings, particularly regarding interpersonal skills, but with Stevies backing the two of them could make this side as good as any in our history. Rafa is as pig headed as f***, but so was Shanks and so is Taggart.
  14. Great point. Rafa is aware as all of us that we are s*** on the left and is looking to address it. People saying 'its only Sunderland' are overlooking the fact they gave a good game to all the other top sides. I know I'm in a minority of one, but I saw a lot of encouragement in Sundays game. There were patterns of passing and play developing that reminded me of Valencia when they played us in the friendly. Yes we were s*** in the final third. At the moment we remind me very much of Fergusons Mancs in his first six seasons there. A spine of quality players, but looking like headless chickens often. What finally made them click was Giggs and Cantona - they won their first Prem in his first season, even though they were 10th around Christmas time. We're in the same position - quality players, headless chickens, just missing the left winger and Torres partner. Trust in Rafa - he'll get it right.
  15. You know we are in s*** state when we are calling for Riise to be included
  16. She's presenting us as a city of drunks and losers and presenting Hicks as a benevolent owner. More importantly, she is doing it in Hicks home country. The most important weapon we have in our protests about Hicks is PR. Let this lie prevail and we have lost before we start.
  17. Thats a really important point, thats getting largely overlooked.
  18. http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/liverp...64375-19499496/ Which is why, in his new job as Liverpool’s first commercial director, he is happy to stress that his priorities do not lie with squeezing yet more out of the Anfield faithful. Lieing b*****d.
  19. I put the OP on RAWK too; its from todays press, incidentally. Here are some of the responses : Ayres is Hick's appointment and is Hick's man at the club. You are right that he was brought in to improve our marketing adn our commerical performance - although to date his performance has been distinctly average. People who have dealt with him have been far from impressed. Furthermore, he sees himself, rightly, as closely tied to HIcks and is doing all he can to prolong Hicks ownership. To this end he has been responsible for a number fo emails which put a more optimistic (from Hicks point of view) gloss of things that are going on at the club than many believe the circumstances warrant. The man is a snake and a grass, and should be treated with extreme caution. There was a piece of information posted recently here on RAWK (think in the Fan's buyout-Thread) that confirmed that someone from within Anfield had reassured Hicks about the calmdown of the fans ... I don't know that guy at all. But you should always be careful to trust marketing guys. They are used to prevaricate ... he used to do pretty much the same job at my local team huddersfield town before he went to asia and most people down this end regard him as a t***. think he ended up on the board and was instrumental in the period where hudds went into administration, relegation to league 2 and ended up startin a season with only 9 proffesional players cos they couldnt afford keep most of the players. hes a knobend My guess is Hicks just wanted his own yes man at the club. Expect the same sort of appointment for manager, if we lose Rafa. We've been warned !!!!
  20. 1. Masch 2. Skrtel 3. Torres
  21. Nice spot Kaizer. Hear her here talking random sports. See her here. Most importantly, email her here : jenfloyd@star-telegram.com
  22. Skrtel was constantly looking to keep the ball on the floor, retain possession and keep it moving. Offhand I can only remember one time when he chose to hoof it. Yes it wasn't the strongest opposition and he still has a lot to prove, but he showed the side to his game that we miss in Carra. If (and I agree he still has a lot to prove to us) he can build on yesterdays display him and Agger would have a lot of potential as a CB pairing. Except Carras shortcomings for months have cost us as much as almost anyone else and he has been far from reliable. Hate to say it as I love the bloke. Make your mind up - are you having a go at the owners, the manager or the players. Says it all to be honest; piss poor journalism befitting the rag he is employed by. Bascombe has found his level - sticking the knife into the club thats helped make his career for him.
  23. Skimmed the papers this morning and read an article (think it was in the Daily Post ?) talking about Ian Ayres. i) It said Ayres was recruited to get his feet under the door and take over from Parry; ii) More importantly, it said Ayres had briefed Hicks that his recent refinancing had brought the fans back onto his side. Either its a load of made up rubbish, Ayres is out of touch or he is lieing. Anyone else seen this ? Would be important to know whether Hicks is getting mixed messages or not. I've no idea what he has been up to since he got here.
  24. The thing is Ant, thats what Hicks is counting on and what all entire money making strategy at LFC is based upon. It wouldn't hurt support for the team at the ground and would send a strong message. I understand its the only way lots of folk can watch and thats why one of the topics for consideration is how long to propse the cancellation for.
  25. I feel this would send a message out, which might even make people at Virgin and Murdoch sit up and take notice - it would send a message to the whole Premier League. It would get press coverage all over the world and make a real point. I propose that as many of us as possible all cancel subscriptions to either Sky Sports or all Satellite television subscriptions as possible. I propose we all do this in a co-ordinated manner, over a period of between two to seven days, to send the strongest possible message. I am asking for peoples opinions on : i) whether it is worth considering; ii) when this would be; iii) whether we make it permanent or just for a set number of months. While I have had the idea, I am happy to either run with it and co-ordinate it or to hand it over to one the established groups who have already started, from the Sandon Meetings.
