I can't believe people are knocking Riises attacking ability. He nearly scored a peach of a header last weekend.

'It’s a great economic model. People are worried that I might take money away from the Rangers to go to Liverpool. It’s just the reverse. Liverpool is going to pull off lots of extra money that if I choose I can use for the Rangers or Stars.' http://blogs.dallasobserver.com/unfairpark..._hicksville.php Hope the b*****d turns up on Tuesday so we can have a chat with him.

I don't think Hicks will sell unless he is forced to. It comes down to what Gillett decides to do. The fan collectives should co-ordinate approaches to Gillett to get him onside.
-
The lesson we needed to learn was not to trust Parry and do research of our own on potential buyers. I'll take DIC over Hicks without a second thought.

Chavs : Cech Belletti Alex Carvalho Cole Ballack Makelele Fat b*****d Wright-Phillips Anelka Cole Both attacking line ups. Should be a good match.

Exactly. He'll get at least 100mill for naming rights on the new stadium. He'll only need another 140mill to get it built. Even if he took that out as a loan annual interest is about the same as the 40mill a year the Mancs are playing. He's going nowhere IMO. Mediocity beckons for us long term. The proviso of course is that it all depends on Gillett at the moment. Perhaps we are all focusing on the wrong person in giving s*** to Hicks. Maybe all the fans effort should be based around trying to get Gilletts support.

Lets remind ourselves of what this man is really about : "When I was in the leverage buy-out business we bought Weetabix and we leveraged it up to make our return. You could say that anyone who was eating Weetabix was paying for our purchase of Weetabix. It was just business. It is the same for Liverpool" - Tom Hicks "All of these teams have become businesses in the past 20 years," Hicks said. " This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn't necessarily have to do with winning." I'm feel so angry and so helpless seeing our beloved club going down the tubes. There is nothing we can do to make him think twice that will not damage the club, in the short term. He is the club. He is turning us into his whore. By the time most people realise what is going to happen, it will be too late.
-
Hicks doesn't care. He probably pisses himself laughing at everyone who protests at the match, because they have all paid him 30 odd quid to do so. The only language this man knows is $$$$$ This is why I can't bring myself to believe anything about him selling us. If he holds onto us for a few years he can make hundreds of millions. I don't know why anything thinks he will sell now for a tenth of the profit he can make. Nor do I believe he will sell us once the Stadium is built. He will milk us forever. I believe the only thing that will stop him is boycotts of the match or stopping the Stadium. I don't believe either will happen, certainly not in time to make him think twice; we are too loyal to our club and he knows it. Hicks own us and our money as much as he owns the club. I feel sick to my stomach about it.
-
Absolutely agree, sadly. I fear the majority of fans will only realise this far too late.
-
No it doesn't. It has a detrimental effect on Hicks profits that he will bleed out of the club as far as he is able for as long as he is able. As an aside, it doesn't have to actually happen. It would be enough for Hicks to know that we are able to make it happen. Doing nothing now confines the future of our club to mediocrity.
-
Whataver we do we need to wake up quickly. We haven't got months or years. We have got weeks to make Hicks reconsider. I can't believe for a second he is going to sell to anyone, unless he is forced. If he sticks it out for 3-4 years he can value us at another $billion than we presently are. All he wants is $$$$$ Singing nasty names at the match doesn't bother him one bit; he is pissing himself laughing because every individual singing about him has paid him 30 quid to get in.
-
The new stadium is just a cash cow for Hicks. He isn't going to make us winners. We need a new stadium if we have owners who will use the money from it to make us winners, not to line the pockets of Hicks. This is the only thing that will make him think twice.
-
If we can block or postpone the building of the new stadium, by any means, we will beat Hicks. On one hand, apart from anything else, this will be the thing that will least divide us, the fans. On the other, if Hicks can't build a new stadium his valuation of our club is halved. We need the answers to a few questions : i) Is planning permission in place for the new stadium; ii) What is/will the planning permission be dependant upon (eg finances in place, agreement of locals, council approval, Government approval) ? iii) Once planning permission has been granted, can it be rescinded ? If so on what basis ? iv) Will petitions to Government or Council help before or after planning permission is granted ? v) On what basis can planning permission be removed or denied ? I've tried to start chasing this up via Peter Kilfoyle. He is the MP for Walton, which includes Anfield. He recently said : The supporters were today given the backing of Walton MP Peter Kilfoyle, who called on Hicks and Gillett to sell up before they can do any more damage to the club. Kilfoyle, whose constituency takes in Anfield, told the ECHO: “What we are seeing at Liverpool at the moment is a recipe for chaos unless they sell up. I've tried to speak to Peter, but he won't deal directly with me unless I am one of his constituents. We need someone who lives in Walton or Anfield to start a dialogue with him. He has open Surgerys twice a month, for constituents. Or you can phone him on : 0151 284 4150 or 0207 219 3000 http://www.peterkilfoyle.com/contact.html Constituents and non-constituents can email him at : kilfoylep@parliament.uk or boothg@parliament.uk I suggest we don't send him a load of separate emails. So we need two things : i) advice from people who know about the planning permission issues; ii) a Walton / Anfield constituent to establish contact with Mr Kilfoyle and talk with him about the above. In closing I want to say the next few weeks are make or break for the club. They will determine our future for many years. We've got this next few weeks only to make Hicks think twice.

Only a matter of time before one of the American c**** proposes play offs at the end of the season, for the title.
-
Agree with you totally mate. The mans incompetence is staggering. Five minutes on Google is enough to tell Hicks to f*** right off. The sad thing is he is now one of the very few people who have any influence, however minimal, and knows what is happening. My opinion is the next few weeks are critical. We have to influence Hicks opinion now on whether to stick it out or not. Unofrtunately, the only thing I believe would work is a boycott, a threat now of a boycott next season should he still be here or petitioning or taking action to stop or hinder the new stadium.
-
The only thing Hicks understands is $$$$. Any ideas to make him think twice about sticking it out for the next few years ? Do they need new planning permission for the new stadium ? If so we could petition against that. Kilfoyle would be on side. The supporters were today given the backing of Walton MP Peter Kilfoyle, who called on Hicks and Gillett to sell up before they can do any more damage to the club. Kilfoyle, whose constituency takes in Anfield, told the ECHO: “What we are seeing at Liverpool at the moment is a recipe for chaos unless they sell up.

Actually I didn't post to write asking them to please buy us, I wrote let them know what you think. Feel free to either ignore it or write and tell them to f*** off, if you so wish. Hicks doesn't want to win anything, he just wants to make money. "All of these teams have become businesses in the past 20 years," Hicks said. " This business has to do with fan affinity and brand devotion. It doesn't necessarily have to do with winning." "When I was in the leverage buy-out business we bought Weetabix and we leveraged it up to make our return. You could say that anyone who was eating Weetabix was paying for our purchase of Weetabix. It was just business. It is the same for Liverpool" - Tom Hicks This sums up our future under this fat, greedy c***. DIC will want us to increase in value, but you can be sure they will want to win things too. DIC are a business, but they are all about excellence top to bottom. They are the best at what they do in whatever they do. I've never pushed them or backed them big time at all; but under Hicks I'm despairing. A leopard can't change his spots and our future under him would destroy everything about us.
-
Dubai Life are giving us all the oppportunity to feedback to DIC directly what our feelings are : http://www.thedubailife.com/index.php/main...erpool_takeover Click on 'Latest on DIC Liverpool Takeover' at the top of the Home Page for some interesting reading. I found the entry from 31/01/07 very poignant.

The question is whether this would open them up to legal redress, from Moores, perhaps even buy back of the club ?
-
Are people forgetting Mourihno took over a squad that was much better than ours is now, spent 300mill and still couldn't get past us. When he won with Porto, they had a cracking squad and they played the easiest possible teams in getting there and winning it. Maureen would never come here, thank f*** - he'd be found out. Good manager, no doubt, but well overrated and an obnoxious t***.
-
Surely this can't be true ? It would mean they have defaulted on their previous loan agreements ?
-
His base salary is 100k. He has a 400k expenses allowance written into his contract for outrageous ties, funny costumes and makeup.

I don't think it is, plus I didn't know Cobs name is Shirley.
