  1. Think that has more to do with him nearly dying in a motorcycle accident to be fair.

Still a Red Hamann is assured of a rapturous reception from the home fans, after a seven-year Anfield career which saw him claim two league cup, two FA Cup, a UEFACup and, most famously, a Champions League winners medal when his half-time introduction in Istanbul helped change the match. "It will be emotional," admitted Hamann. "I went to the Galatasaray match earlier this season when I said hello to a few people, but that's the only time I've been back. "A part of me feels like I still belong there. I was there a long time and had some wonderful memories. Part of me is still Liverpool and I hope I get a nice reception."
  3. I quoted the wrong one
  4. How can something be a HUGE mistake after 3 months? Finnan was gash when he first came, and was nearly sold to Spurs when Rafa first came. Look at how he has contributed over the last few seasons. Does my head in that people feel able to write players off after 5 minutes. And what the feck has your remark got to do with the rest of this thread?

    Kuyt

To use Rafa's phrase he has "Game Intelligence".
  6. Is this not just the same rubbish the post come out with every other week?
  7. Its certainly more popular in Australia, but after the last Ashes do you really think Flintoff/Petersen could do that?
  8. Depends how long the list is
  9. Can't find a picture on google, but I am assuming he has the obligatory mullett.
  10. Echo Reds close in on teen starNov 22 2006 Exclusive By Chris Bascombe, Liverpool Echo LIVERPOOL are close to snapping up Argentina starlet Emiliano Insua in a deal worth around £1m. The 17-year-old left-back arrived on Merseyside today from legendary South American club Boca Juniors. He'll be at Anfield in time to watch tonight's Champions League clash with PSV. It's anticipated he'll initially sign on loan until the end of the season, with the deal agreed to make the move permanent next summer. Insua is part of the exciting Argentine Under-20 side who are currently world champions at their level, and his arrival is part of an ongoing strategy by Rafa Benitez to recruit elite youngsters from across the world and provide a stable foundation for the future of the club. Chief scouts Frank McParland and Eduardo Macia have been entrusted to scour the globe for potential stars of the future. Insua comes into that category, having been spotted excelling for his country's youth team, and there are expected to be more recruits in the New Year. Manchester United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Barcelona were tracking Insua, but Liverpool were the first to show an interest in the teenager, prompting him to reject recent moves from Stamford Bridge and Old Trafford. There are those at Anfield who believe Insua could challenge for a first team spot before the end of this season, and will certainly be an option in time for the 2007-08 campaign. ---------------- Anyone seen him play?
  11. And neither was your penalty a penalty, so it even things out doesn't it.
  12. Don't think Barton is good enough.
  13. Getting to be a bit cosmopolitan now, Sowerby isn't? Home of the best Pizza's in the area, Dino's. To be fair, its years since I've been out round Halifax so no idea what the curry houses are like these days. Only place I regularly go to is Pajarees the Thai place near Bull Green.
  14. We weren't as bad on Saturday as we were against Blackburn at home. We weren't great, but we weren't great in a lot of away games last season. A lot of them looked a lot like Boro'. Difference was we put the ball in the net.
  15. Norton Tower. If you're gonna have a fight in a curry house, at least make sure its a decent one, Paddy.
  16. So do I - its no worse than most other northern towns of its ilk. Just has a lot more pubs. There are a couple of decent places in Halifax, mostly away from the town centre though. He was fighting in "Ziggy's spice house" though, which isn't one of them.

  19. He's played deep since he came - played deeper than Didi when they played together. In his 1st season teams did not know about him - he got more space. More often than not he is now closed down very quickly. Don't disagree about moving him further up the pitch though.
  20. Not a bad shout that, might allow Xabi more space to play in. His poorest games come when he is man marked. More time on the ball = more accurate passing.
  21. Indeed. And its very easy to come out now and say "we were never gonna win it anyway" in an effort to look like some sort of genius. If you're contrary often enough, you'll be proved right occassionally.
  22. Kuyt is one of the best players we've bought in ages. We're not Everton. We've played all the hard away games, so it can't get much worse.

    pennant & bellamy

    Damn straight.
  24. Perhaps. Naive to dismiss it though. And to dismiss the Tevez/Mascherano stuff.
  25. I hate them in a big way, and I thought they might lose tonight. c**** keep winning though. Won't last.
