I think we made the improvements we were able to. Benayoun I was never really sure about, but it made a bit more sense with Garcia going . Torres is a no brainer. Babel, i think, will be an important player given a few years. In the same way Van Persie started slowly (and out wide) at Arsenal and gradually improved and played more centrally. Would have liked CH cover and missing Malouda was a shame, as he looks a good player. But he's evidently a gimp as he's gone to Chelsea.

That stats are probably similar for Gerrard, Carra, Agger, Alonso, Finnan etc for us (at least until we stopped bothering cause of the Cl final) Hopefully, they'll be that way for Torres eventually, but its an odd one. I seem to remember Kuyt playing nearly every game after he came last season, even with all the work he gets through. I think (and hope) the same will be true of Torres eventually.

If Torres starts I expect him to get a serious injury. its Karma.

Then he'll play someone out of position there I reckon. Maybe Riise or Arbeloa. If he plays either Sami or Carra when they are our only fit 1st team CH's I'll be flabbergasted.

Be very surprised if either of the 1st choice CH's play.

Chelsea don't have to sell anyone unless they want to, so all these sort of questions are pointless. He'd spend his contract in the reserves before they sell to us. All talk of players leaving is daft, they'll forget about him when the payslip comes in.

Think Pennant goes beyond that a little. Sure I remember reading he couldn't read/write until into his teens (obviously not a sign of thickness in itself). Didn't Carra also describe him as being a bit thick in one of those Q&A things. When, as a footballer, your peers start calling you thick, you know you're in trouble.

Think I read something from Elisha about everyone being really impressed with Lucas in training. I wouldn't start him, but assuming things are going well I'd give him 30 minutes at the end.

How did you go about that? Know people that have done it themselves but not sure I am capable or can be arsed trying.
