Your last point is the most damning aspect of the whole.midfield mess in my view. Our much lauded recruitment team were only able to identify one player globally with his criteria given that we obviously wanted a midfielder if we were after him. Our status, our standing and just one defensive midfielder was the length of the list of players that would at least provide a challenge if not improvement to an aging and ailing trio. Madness.
