Gerrard wasn't anonymous. He was certainly driving forward with the ball when I was watching. Newcastle really fluked their way to a win, which was the only way they were going to win. We looked to have this game wrapped up but after 30 mins things went awry, Newcastle only managed to get their foot in because the pitch wasn't great. We could have easily killed them today. Sissoko and Zenden (passenger anyway) weren't up to match speed. I was gobsmacked to see Riise on the pitch today.Whats it take to see this fella benched? I honestly don't know what Kuyt was doing all game, mystified. I lost interest at half time it was a poor scrappy game to watch. If anyone can fill me in on what exactly he was doing.

Disagree with that, he was being double teamed and barely got a couple of feet before turning around and passing it back or just losing possession. The crosses he did get in caused very little problems due to the way Everton set up. He doesn't really have the speed or skill to beat his man.

I'd look more towards the performance and the failings within the team as to why it's off, if it indeed is off.

Everton are set up exactly to counter our crossing, which are mostly weak and hopeful anyway. What is needed is someone to run the ball through them.They are camped inside their box and offering nothing in attack. It's disappointing there has been no change in approach.
