  1. Ridiculous to have players that are 23 & 24 (25 this year) on the Young Player of the Year list.
  2. So... Sunderland are a bit sh*t aren't they?
  3. It's not supposed to be as bad as it looked.
  4. From Guardian's MBM: 4.16pm BST 7 mins: May have spoken too soon about the Chelsea fans and the minute's silence - a few people are claiming some of them sang through it. Nice one lads, well done, hope you're having a lovely afternoon.
  5. That's pretty much the view the assistant ref had of the incident as well. While the ref stands in the usual position outside the area just about in line with the post further away from the corner. Looking "through" all the players in the penalty area. So obviously the ref saw it better and could overrule the assistant ref. :wacko:/>

  8. Guðlaugur Victor Pálsson. ;)/> (Middle name spelled in an "un-icelandic" way because his father is Portuguese.)
  9. Yup (see edit above).
  10. The record for wins in a row is 14 games (in the EPL™ era I presume). So it's possible. It happened in Kolo's first season with Arsenal. So the stars keep aligning?
  11. It really caught me be surprise.
  12. I watched the end of the game. And that system is used in the great sport of handball (which very few of you have heard about?). The ref simply signals that he's stopping the clock. The game then simply ends at the... well at the end of the game - in handball after 60min. Would be very easy to implement and would surely be better than the current system of guessing how much there really is left in the game.
  13. Is the middle of the pitch a "neutral zone" if a player is clean through on goal? Genuinely curious - not trying to pick a fight anymore. RP's zen-like defusing of my attempts at that have calmed me own.
  14. Good, I'd lose.
  15. That's what I meant with allowing the team to complete the last attack (often however long it is) instead of just ending the game after 90min. I'm not sure what you mean with the "GK to be taken to blow". -- got that now...
  16. Well I do. And I'm always right (except when I'm not). Fight?
  17. No, I'm not claiming it's corruption. It's just the habit refs have of allowing teams (especially home teams in need of a goal) to complete the attack instead of just blowing for the end of the game when the 90 minutes are actually up. Shouldn't he have blown at the exact moment the 90min where up? Or is there something in the rules that say that while a team is attacking the game goes on?
  18. So it was just a coincidence that the Arsenal attack ended just seconds before that? Or did he, like so many refs before him, decide to allow the home team in need of a goal to complete their attack before ending the game?
  19. So why did he play 40 seconds more and not 45-50seconds? (as those extra 10 seconds would have allowed Swansea to complete their attack) And why the f*ck is the official time kept secret by only letting the ref know how much is left? (not aimed at you)
  20. Why hasn't there been introduced an official time in the game where you can see when the ref stops the clock and when the game is over? Looks very suspect when the ref allows one team to complete their attack but when the other team is clean through on goal just after that the ref decides time is up...
  21. I'm not sure either. But based on the ref sending off Gibbs instead of the wannabe-goalie I'm not sure they had a very good view of the incident. Would have been nice to see how a bit of video refereeing would have dealt with that.
