If we are in a good position throw on Riise for gonzalez and go for a more defensive 4-5-1.
  2. Damn ancient measuring system you use over there.... So it's only 5 metres shorter than Nou Camp. I thought it looked a lot bigger than that.
  3. Nou Camp is 105 x 68 metres Anfield is 110 x 75 m metres according to wikipedia.... but that sounds all wrong for some reason...
  4. Wouldn't be surprised if we went for 4-5-1. Depending on fitness: Reina Finnan Carra Hyypia Aurelio Momo Alonso Pennant Gerrard Gonzalez Crouch Defence: Hyypia in for Agger simply because of his experience. Agger has been doing great but this may be one season too soon to throw him in against the likes of Barcelona. Aurelio simply because he has played in Spain and is less likely to give the ball away than Riise at the moment. Midfield: In defense we could give Sissoko a free role. Basically let him run around tackling everything that moves and Gerrard drops to cover Carra and Hyypia in the centre. In attack let Pennant and Gonzalez stay as wide as possible to hit Barca on the counter attack with Gerrard doing damage through the middle. With Pennant and Gonzalez in the team we can exploit the holes left behind their full backs. Attack: Simple really. Either get the ball to Crouch for him to play it to Gerrard or play the ball out wide and get as many crosses as possible for Crouch to work with (or just target Crouch with shots hoping he'll deflect one of those into goal rather than trust his heading ability. ). Let's try to get the away goal by blitzing them them the first 15-20min and then play it safe after that. It's very likely that an away goal will be the difference between these two sides after boths games. This manager thing is simple isn't it?

    New ground

If there are 50k people waiting for a season ticket then why didn't we apply for making the stadium bigger?
  6. Ah, ok. Thanks.
  7. "Dedicated commercial debt"? What's that and why would we want that? (as is pretty obvious I know nothing about these things....)
  8. Wouldn't be surprised to see this team for the away leg. reina finnan carra hyypia Aurelio Gerrard Alonso Momo Gonzalez/Zenden kuyt crouch. Get as many players as possible in that have played in Spain. Crouch and Kuyt up front because they are the type of players defenders in La Liga aren't used to playing against.
  9. That right-winger we had called Cisse did pretty good though.
  10. I'll help out with that. Would be great to have such a site. Goals, assists and 2nd assists (example, a through ball from Gerrard for Pennant who crosses for Crouch to score if you know what I mean).
  11. Thanks.
  12. Anyone that can copy paste the article for those of us who aren't registered at that site?
  13. 78th! Which is a hell of a lot better than last season!
  14. Ívar Ingimarsson at reading?
  15. Could work as well but I've always thought that you should play players in their "specialist" positions even if you are hit by injuries. Gives the youngsters the chance to make it.
  16. What KPatel posted looks good. Although I want us to try this. Reina Finnan Carra Agger Aurelio Guthrie Alonso Gerrard Kuyt Crouch Bellamy They will try to flood the midfield and just try to keep the score 0-0 at halftime. We should come out showing intent of wanting to punish someone for our last game. Just show teams that we don't accept such losses. Finnan and Aurelio to attack down the wings, Kuyt and Bellamy dragging their FB out of position and then hoping someone hits Crouch hard enough with the ball that he can't trap it like he does with most headers. We should be good enough to win against them even if we allow a youngster to play. (or something like that.......)
  17. http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=4...ning+Masch+race Juventus are ready to concede defeat in their bid to snatch Javier Mascherano from under the noses of Liverpool, but skysports.com understands that the Premiership side are yet to petition Fifa regarding any transfer of the West Ham man. The Reds are known to be keen on recruiting the Argentinian international on loan for the remainder of the season, but recent reports had suggested that long-standing admirers Juventus were launching a renewed bid to lure the midfielder to Italy. Hammers boss Alan Curbishley recently stated his belief that Mascherano, and international colleague Carlos Tevez, would not be leaving Upton Park due to Fifa regulations that prevent players performing for three clubs between 1st July and 30th June. Despite the problems regarding red tape, Liverpool are believed to be hopeful of finding a way around the regulations in order to secure the signature of the player who made such an impression at Corinthians before seeing his form slump at Upton Park. Now The Reds appear to be in pole position to land Mascherano after Juve's general director Alessio Secco confirmed that the MSI-owned star is close to a move to Anfield. "Mascherano? It is a complicated situation either on a federal level or for his ownership," Secco told Gazzetta dello Sport. "Anyway now he is really close to Liverpool." Following the Bianconeri's admission, only the outstanding legal issues with Fifa appear to be standing in the way of the holding midfielder completing a loan move to Anfield. However, skysports.com has learnt that Fifa's legal department are yet to receive any correspondence from the Premiership club.
