Since Forlan joined Villareal has been in 3rd, 7th and are at the moment in 7th (IIRC). A. Madrid at the same time has been in 11th, 10th, and at the moment they are in 6th position (IIRC). So Forlan has been in a better team (yes, he probably helps make them better). It's also been pretty well established that Forlan doesn't cut it in the Premiership. But you can't base everything about a player on stats. You also need to take into account what system teams play, how the player is used to be played within a system and a whole lot of other things. To me Bent looks like a Cisse type player. Great to have if you are planning on playing on the counter but not that useful if not. Torres on the other hand is captain of his team and is under immense pressure to deliver for them. He's also playing in a team that actually tries to play good football. Who we should go after if the choice is between them is pretty clear to me. But in reality there is probably very little chance we'd get him.
