Do you not see though that some players are out for a couple of weeks with an 'injury' that shouldn't keep them out? For instance, Carra, Torres, Dirk or Gerrard would play with something that say, Babel or Aquilani wouldn't. It is about desire, hunger and determination. Torres is a flair player, a pacy forward who loves to score, but he has the heart of a winner, someone who wants to get involved even if things aren't going his way. Look at Rooney. What a player he is. But without the heart and desire he would drift in and out of games. Bringing Lucas into it is a good comparison actually, at least the lad cares and wants to show what he can do. I have never seen him go missing in a game ever!

Torres is good as a lone striker but he is playing a Kevin Davies lone striker role rather than the Ibrahimovic one he should be playing. Chasing and grafting, thats it. Most of the goals he gets these days are through his own hard work and ability. With a striker like him he deserves some on a plate. If he was on his own with Xavi, Iniesta and Messi behind him then fine, but he isn't, with the exception of Gerrard, he has honest workmen behind him

This isn't the reason I cant stand him though, its the fact that the games he has started he has shown a lack of bottle, desire and effort. Spurs away first game of the season and a big chance for him - He didn't just play badly, he was a s***house and went hiding from the ball. Torres crucified him after one particular s***house episode. The other away start was at Sunderland and whilst everyone else was poor, that doesn't excuse him making no impression AGAIN. The Man City at home 'injury' also sums him up, he didn't want to know, f*** all wrong with him. Its all symptomatic of the fella's piss poor character - f***ing 'Rio the Rapper'

He plays Gerrard further forward, hence the fact he is better attacking. Torres is just a tremendous player who we are in danger of ruining by using him as a lone battering ram when we should be indulging him and making him chance after chance. As for improving Kuyt as an attacker - I am not sure moving him out wide and getting 10 - 15 a season out of him means he has improved him? I do think there is an argument that he wants players to sacrifice their natural flair to be part of a more workmanlike unit. To the other extreme, I watch Barca and think how good Torres would be in the Ibrahimovic role, 4 or 5 decent chances a game and our number 9 would be bagging 40 a season easily.

Watched him against Chelsea and City. Looks a great prospect, left footed centre mid, cool and good on the ball.

Tomorrow could be interesting. Fun, a good lau, not surprising thou. -
Blame the England physio for that. Not the player.

c***. I have put my heart and soul into this site etc......
-
He had him at Valencia and didn't rate him.

Interestingly I was watching the match with my mate last night and before that tackle he said 'Mascherano has committed 3 fouls now, next one he will get booked'. 4 is the limit apparently which I wasn't aware of.

Torres is class in every way. Well deserving of the captaincy in the future if we manage to keep hold of him.

Some very strange opinions on here. He hasn't played well this season, thats fairly obvious. But, who apart from Pepe Reina, has? And that's not my gripe anyway. I took offence to the 'when the going gets tough......' comment. He has put his heart and soul into his Liverpool career, from when he first wore the shirt as a kid til now. Just see what his work colleagues think of him - Reina, Torres, Carragher, Alonso, basically everyone who has been at the club since he has been there and they will tell you he is the one they look to. The one who makes things happen and I am not just talking about his ability as a player but also as a captain too. No, he is not Souness or Keane and yes, sometimes I would love him to revert back to being a skinhead scally smashing into tackles, but he is feared now by opponents and respected by his peers, all of them. He could have played for any team in the world if he wanted, could have been playing with Messi, Ronaldo, Kaka or anyone, but he doesnt. He plays for Liverpool Football Club, a Liverpool side that is struggling this season, hence the likes of him, Torres and Benayoun playing with injuries and trying to turn things around for us. If he 'got going' when times were hard, he could have f***ed off plenty of times to huge clubs with better players and more money, but he hasn't. I hope to f*** Fernando Torres doesn't go on these forums! He'll have to re-assess his opinion of our supporters.........

I am sure he doesn't need apologists, he will stand by whatever meaning was intended wont he?
-
If thats what he meant why start with 'Its just the shape of things to come anyway'?

You f***ing w*****.
-
Very wise too! When did Captain Marvel lift the European Cup?
-
The Lyon performance actually made me dislike him even more, scored a screamer then pulled one easier chance hopelessly wide, hit a dangerous free kick out for a throw in, then s*** out of a header which led directly to their equaliser. He is a s***house, mentally and physically. I would have an under-performing Yossi every day of the week ahead of this 'Rio the Rapper' c***.

Sorry, I will go back to the shadows til I have some proper information. me and my opinions eh..........

We are desperate for a left back too, Aurelio has a calf made of liquorice and Insua is just s****. A left back, centre half who can head a ball and a wide/creative midfielder are priorities I reckon. I would love a Centre forward too, but not sure, maybe the Kevin Davies shout isn't so bad.

Rafa banned him from Melwood for a week due to 'lack of effort' He flew out to New York with his Mrs. This was a couple of weeks ago, he is a c***!
-
I think its an excellent source. Even after the op though, he could be back within 2 weeks, Michael Carrick played a game 11 days after he had the same one.
