  1. That is absolutely class.
  2. I doubt that the majority of people who played with both would pick Souness as the better player. As good as Souness was, and he was great, Kenny was a genius.
  3. One or both of his knees is absolutely f***ed, big massive bits are missing. A slight worry
  4. Sorry mate, more likely to see Lionel Blair signing in the summer I think.
  5. With regards to this discussion, I did some research on a TV series that will be shown on Sky Sports at some point in the near future called 'Footballs Greatest' which is about the top 50 players of all time. A 1 hour programme featuring numbers 26-50 then 25 half hour programmes on 1-25. SOme of the players featured have amazing stories and the footage is superb. Garrincha, Di Stefano, Puskas and Muller among them alongside plenty of the usual suspects. Besides the footage and stories there are some boss new interviews, including a brand spanker of 'The King' which is featured on his show. One of the class comments from Dalglish involves him talking about us winning the 1984 European Cup in Roma's backyard and how he was fuming that we didnt win it on away goals even before the penalties started! Its a really class series, have a look here at the Production company's website. My link
  6. He was always late for training at LFC too, and wasn't bothered in the slightest. The lads a c**k.
  7. You were right with your original post, thats all
  8. What has he said that is inaccurate?

  13. If Babel does have all this talent and is not showing it then it is his own fault, either through lack of effort or lack of bottle. It is not Rafa Benitez's fault that he goes on the pitch and produces one moment of skill every 800 minutes or so. It was Rafa's decision to buy him and he must take blame for that, but the player himself is a workshy beaut.

  15. N'gog isn't ready yet, I agree. He may never be what we need but I wouldn't fault his attitude to the task. Unfortunately at this stage of his development he is neither strong nor quick enough to play up there.
  16. No need for your sarcasm either. Injuries haven't helped but a more positive attitude would filter through to players who come in. I am trying to say that we have a gem in Torres and if we all just accept that this is how we play, then we wont have him for long (in my opinion) - Do you think he will be happy in the Europa League????
  17. Its different playing up front on your own with lots of support to help you and good service - early into feet, good crossing from out wide, balls into space between defenders etc.... What he has done this season is chase onto hopeful (hopeless) long balls, waiting for the centre half to come and kill him as another long floated ball hangs in the air. The Ibrahimovic example was meant to highlight the difference in playing a lone striker the way we do and the way it should be done when your lone striker is world class.
  18. I am saying that he is pissed off feeding on scraps, c**k-eye.
  19. His groins are ropey, thats a given at the moment. If you really think he is being treated well in the Liverpool system then you are blind. He is being utilised badly and is getting goals in spite of the system not because of it. And him being up front on his own getting booted from pillar to post and having nothing but scraps to feed on will piss him off sooner or later. Lets not lose the biggest playing asset we have by being negative and unambitious.
  20. We should have spent the cash on Darren Bent and Adam Johnson or some others who would have at least contributed.
  21. I dont think he is ignoring the last month which has been a grind amid some good results. Are you ignoring the previous 5 months? And I cant speak for any others, but my gripe isn't particular about last night, it just so happens I am bored in work today. It is something that has bothered me all season and in previous seasons under Rafa. I know last season was really good league wise but we still lost out and over the duration of Rafas time here I think we have worried about the opposition too much.
  22. To be fair, even with Torres on the pitch this season we have been dire. Fulham away being one example. Rooney is supported by midfielders who get close to him and sometimes even go ahead of him. People like Carrick, Fletcher, Giggs, Valencia, Park etc..... We have Gerrard who (sometimes) gets ahead of or close to Torres and thats basically it!
  23. Its sometimes more than just tactics though. Sometimes attitude and actual ability are more important. Man United are a typical example of a team who achieve more than they should due to having an aggressive, attacking attitude on the pitch. For all his faults Ferguson is someone who makes his players believe. If someone keeps telling you to watch out for this, dont gamble here, dont gamble there, be wary of this player doing that, watch out for this one doing the other, in the end you are going to be more worried about doing something wrong than trying to do something positive. I am not saying Rafa is a the worst example of this, but some of our performances this season have been startlingly bad. Fulham away, for an entire half we didn't have a single shot. 45 minutes of football without a shot on goal. How are we supposed to score a goal????
  24. Out injured all the time cos he works his ollies off chasing hopeful flick ons into corners etc.....
  25. Obviously I am using extreme examples. But the point is valid, and we need to become a more attackign fluid team or we risk losing the best centre forward we have had for years. I dont want him going to play for Spain and wanting some of that at club level too. We need to keep him happy here.
