Why not? I'd assume he's watched Reina the past few seasons and believes he's good enough to oust Pepe as our number 1. And stats, for what their worth, would appear to back that claim up.

If the club is genuinely getting Mignolet in to compete with Reina then that's a serious marker of our intent in the coming season.

Reina has been complacent and below par for a few seasons now, spending 10 million to rectify that I don't think is imbecilic at all. Unless, perhaps, it's the only money available this summer but there's nothing to suggest that at all given the spread of players linked to us.

Let the two keepers fight it out this season for the first place spot and sell the weakest next summer, I don't see a problem getting the two in and keeping them. The Papa thing I see separate altogether and being all about his fitness, injury and us being dead right not taking a risk on that for the price being mooted.

Of course a prospective player will know exactly who we are and where we're playing but having "Liverpool are s****, they're not even in the uefa cup" splashed through all the papers won't exactly add encouragement to the decision. It presents us as a club on a downward trajectory as opposed to that constant nearly there thing we want both ourselves and others to believe.

Don't understand that at all, Ferdinand is a crock whereas Toure still has a lot to offer; if anything I'd have it the other way round, which is in fact the way it is. So good! Or you could just put it that way..
