I wonder if the topic was discontinued because the price of hazelnuts skyrocketed. Maybe it's just too exotic a nut, and so confectionery head honchos just went 'lets stick to just peanuts now, if we have to put nuts in anything'
There is an illusion of greater choice, but it's all branding. Behind the brands and the advertising, are we really getting more depth of flavour. Look, I'm not even a massive fan of the hazelnut, but surely we all need that diversity. It's what gives us hope.
