To be fair there was so much buzz about Owen that I along with a significant number of southern based others trekked to Selhurst Park to catch a glimpse of the lad everyone was talking about.... with Gerrard it was much the same in the buzz around his move to join the first team squad and even from his first outings you could see the potential.. raw yes, latent talent... clear to a significant number..... As for Carra.... I'll give you that one

Not quite where my logic took that argument but I would say that in today's competitive league the difference between success and failure in the maelstrom that is the 'best league in the world' is more often than not a mindset and a determination etc.. Anything that detracts from going out on the pitch 100% focused on the job in hand will result in a performance that is not as good as it could have been. Not sure it would justify a single loss in a single performance, but compounded over a period and coinciding with a natural dip that can occur may be enough to effect the player's self belief .... not the single cause but a contributory factor...

Given that the ongoing saga is impacting Maschsrano directly then I cannot see how the players could not be affected as one of their 'squad' has his future as uncertain as I could imagine it ever has the potential to be..... (god my english is crap ) And your argument around the Luton players was laughable... shop window... game against Liverpool, its the FA cup... there was never any doubt they would be up for it admin or no admin
