Indykaila reporting we will make a January bid for Guehi of between £20M and £25M. Also claim we are furious with Palace for reneging at the last minute on deadline day.

James Milner once said of Klopps Liverpool midfield they were always in opponents faces and horrible to play against. That will never be the priority with Wirtz in there, but perhaps sacrificing menace for creativity is no bad thing. As you say, it depends on how well Wirtz does.

Chiesa - a fine young cannibal, raw and cooked.

I wondered why Isak failed to score from open play after that cup final. Loss of form, complacency, contract disillusionment are all possibilities but deliberately not trying in order to miss out on a CL place seems far fetched. Interesting article though, thanks for posting.

That would be a neat solution. Wonder if it's been considered.

Yep, makes sense. Currently it looks as if both Joe and Harvey will remain at Anfield, which is not a disaster. We can sign Guehi next year on a free.

Sky reporting we are waiting for Palace to accept our offer for Guehi before agreeing to sell Gomez. If Palace refuse to sell Guehi to us, we will not sell Gomez to Milan. Sky not claiming Milan have walked away.

Hughes and Quansah getting a good write-up on Anfield Watch; Already Quansah's start to life in the Bundesliga has been encouraging despite a difficult start by Leverkusen. He scored on his debut and has performed impressively, with this being backed up by his numbers as well. At this moment in time Quansah has completed the third most passes (144) among centre-backs and he's also won the most aerial duels (9) and the second most duels (27). His duel-winning ability was something he was criticised for last season by Slot after his performance against Ipswich Town. Now though Quansah is proving he can step up to the levels needed and showcasing his quality and ability to improve. Hughes being the clever man that he is, didn't just agree to sell Quansah he agreed a future buy-back clause for the Reds as per Fabrizio Romano. This could be worth a total sum of £70m with add-ons. If Quansah continues his performances, Liverpool will absolutely trigger that release clause. He's showing he's perfect for the Reds, he just needs a season or two playing regular football. And in a year or two he'll be ready to return to Anfield once again. This is why the buy-back clause was such a genius move from Hughes and why it's inevitable that the Reds are going to activate it.

Arne is good with HT talk. I'm sure we'll improve. -
It's incredible, 4 minutes left. Potters safe, Nunez first sacking seems certain. 2-0 now!!!!

A lot of pundits seem to think Arsenal will get at least a draw. Replacing Saka and Havertz with Eze and Gyokeres is not deemed a problem against our back four, while their defence should be good enough to handle our attack. R5 and Talk Sport peddling this view with only Carragher on Sky favouring us. I've yet to hear from Garry Neville but he's sure to be out of his cage soon. -

Sky Sports discussing a Sam Wallace article in todays Telegraph where he claims Newcatle fans will forgive Isak if he plays for the club again. The implication of the article being Isak may not be sold in this window. Of the three pundits on the programme, one thinks Isak will be sold to us and two feel he will remain on Tyneside.

Agreed, it would be bizarre to make too many changes against Arsenal. Do we start with Mac in midfield and who plays right back, seem the only issues. -

If Ødegaard is unavailable this is the anticipated Arsenal line up according to the Arsenal Mania forum. Defence looks decent as usual but we are sure to create chances. On the other hand that's not the strongest attack we will face this season. No Saka, no problem. Raya Timber Saliba Gab Calafiori Zubi Rice Madueke Eze Martinelli Gyokeres I hope Trossard get fit without him we really have no options on bench to sub on if we chasing something gonna go with Merino again in matchday 3 ffs. Still have Nwaneri that can make an impact, maybe off the bench. -
The indykaila Twitter feed copied the above claiming it was on route to Liverpool. Someone replied, pointing out it was an air ambulance on the way to hospital.

Yep. Not guilty of that offence either.

Oyh you, that was a quote by a RM fan on Sad Cafe. Nothing to do with me Gov.
-
You could well be correct however Klopp clearly rated Trent and, as we offered him a substantial salary increase to stay, I assume Slot felt the same way. There have been links on social media claiming Man City would offer to sign him if RM decide to sell for a decent profit after one season, as they did with Michael Owen. If true, you can add Guardiola to his fan base. The anti-Trent camp includes Southgate, Tuchel and now apparently Alonso. Despite Gary Neville being a Trent admirer, I too am on the side of the angels and would love to see him return.

Sad Cafe have a thread devoted to Trent. A Real Madrid fan posted this, which made me feel sorry for our former hero; Season is long but In important games I prefer Carvajal any day of the week. Must admit I think Trent is worse than I feared. Surely he is poor defensively as expected, but I have seen nothing offensively from him. Looks shy as well. No aggression at all. Carvajal is the complete opposite. In contrast, Carreras just oozes confidence.
