And they called him a left back

He was in West Derby last night.

and Villa?

Morgan sits on the board he is more than just your run of the mill shareholder. He is also a c***.

Knew Steve would have something about the feasibility!

I don't see that me seeing the feasibilty study would help! Not that arsed to be honest - unlike a lot on here I actually trust the board to do what is right for the club. Think a 55,000 -60,000 capacity stadium on the docks would be a nightmare myself in terms of infastructure bit then I haven't seen the feasiblity study. Not going to get into the whole cost issue again cause I think we've said all we're going to on that other than to comment about the Duke, I didn't mean he'd come to the rescue but to get the scheme up and running there was more support and less obstacales in terms of funding so it was unfair to compare Liverpool One and our stadium.
-
Wouldn't say it is b******s. You stated earlier that we should have run with two different sites so that if one was rejected we had an alternative. They way I read this was that to get to a stage were you can go for one or the other late on requires two designs and two different schemes. Who is to say that one stadium that is acceptable for planning on the docks will be passed in Anfield. What infastructure will be required in Anfield and the docks. What are the ground conditions in the docks compared to Anfield, will they have to change the structual makeup of the stadium due to these issues. All of these issues essentially mean you require two designs - two designs represents double the cost. If all you meant was feasilbilty then fyds and Steve have already stated the docks was looked at and dismissed so I don't see the problem. It was looked at by numerous people and rejected but perhaps you know better? Like I said in my last post people knew of cost rises in building but no one could of predicted the rate at which they rose. Liverpool One is funded by one of the richest men in Britain, Liverpool's new stadium however will require a much stricter budget to get the funds released and to compare the two is b******s as is comparing £100k of railway track to structual steel....

Steel prices since 2002 http://www.steelonthenet.com/commodity_prices.html www.meps.co.uk is also another good site for steel. Bit anal......

Be interested to see what the older folk on here think of this - If Rafa was to win the league with us and we were then to go on in the next couple of years and backed it up with a league or Euro Cup again would he be held in as high regard as Shankly. Obviously Shanks achievements were enormous and the club wouldn't be anything without him but to roll over the money machines that are Man U and Chelsea in this day and age would be huge. Suppose it is a tricky one to answer its like asking which team from certain generations would be the best but what would Rafa have to do to go top? As it happens he has started quite well......

Firstly - all the best to Cisse, he might not be my favourite on the pitch but by god he has been unlucky with injury - I wish him all the best and hope he comes back and plays top flight footy again. Secondly - Here is my two pennys worth on the Bellamy/Defoe/Any striker debate -My source (you don't have to trust me if you don't wish to) tells me that Rafa still has major doubts about Defoe and would much prefer Bellamy but believes it'll be difficult to get him to leave Blackburn and in particular Mark Hughes.

http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0500liv...-name_page.html £12.3million seems a bit more than 15m euro but seems to tie in with what Fig was saying on Wednesday.

Something about the Cunard Building..

I'm sure you're wrong

The Centenary Stand is new well 1992, the Anny Road is new 1998 and the Kop is new 1994 - essentially there ain't much left of the 'old' ground. The new Anfield will be a couple of hundred yards away.
-
Don't mean to get arsey here but are you for real? Course the club has, do you really think the club would dive headlong into a £160m scheme without exploring the alternatives? I know they come across as a shambles sometimes but get real. They will have explored the idea of staying and as we all know the cost is just too great to achieve a relatively small number of extra seats. On the second point I know we've left the old Kop behind but the club haven't done too badly since 1994 in terms of trophies have they? I know we still haven't won the title but like I said previously it's the fans who make the atmosphere not the ground. The club has had to leave sentimentality out of issue if we (the fans - not just you and me...) are to move forward and I think we have to back them on their decision if we are to compete on the field as well as off it.
-
You think the club haven't explored this idea? There are too many problems with this solution. If we increase the capacity we have to increase the infastructure as part of the planning so a lot of work has to be carried out anyway. If we stay and expand it will cost a fortune plus there will be all the lost revenue at the stadium as large portions are shut during construction, these are only a few of the problems with staying that I can be arsed highlighting. Staying at Anfield is simply not an option if we want a bigger ground. Its the fans who make the atmosphere not the ground (though granted it helps and I love the European nights as much as the next person) and just look at that stadium Arsenal are moving into. We're soon going to have a medium sized stadium in terms of the Premier League when Chelsea expand (United, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea, Citeh) - we can not sit with our thumbs up our arses.

Not neccesarily, the award is for 2005 so only takes into consideration Barca's La Liga of last year. We're in with a good shout of this award.
-
If they were into back handers the thing would be built by now.....

Any mention of what kind of fee is involved in the transfer - the echo have said £7m today but I'd imagine after the month that Sevilla/Alves have had we'd be looking at closer to double figures.
-
He isn't playing in the WC so I wouldn't of thought it'll be considered in the time frame of any transfer - I could be wrong though.
-
Holy s***, when did we sign Jaoquin/Ribery and Kuyt. Jesus you leave the forums alone overnight and when you come back we've signed three more players.
-
Fig - is all that stuff about Alves being very interested in English football true or is it just interest in the way that any keen football fan is interested in watching other top leagues? Not sure how well you can judge things like this from limited meetings but does he seem like the kind of lad who (according to the Guardian last week can't speak a word of English) would up sticks and leave the comfort zone of Spain? Tried not to ask these questions cause I didn't want to swell your head anymore than it already is but he is one of those players you just can't help getting excited about signing - he was superb again last night, that free kick nearly took the goal frame out of the ground.
