Not true. For almost all the papers to lead with this, it's come from someone they 'believe'. -

I find the whole media circus incredibly xenophobic, as it often is amongst the Sky 'Soccer Saturday' punditry. Whatever happens, the media and other voices within football will never let this go. If Rafa ever wins the title, it will be because others were crap, not becuase we were good. Get used to it. It will never go away, hence there being no need for G, H or Parry to say anything. Don't fuel the fire. Liverpool are renowned for doing things behind closed doors. Rafa broke the silence and Hicks followed. Hopefully they've both learnt their lessons. -
Yes, whilst wearing a track suit

Good news.

Spot on. Let's find out where their £14m (ish) in transfer receipts over the last 2/3 years has gone first. I don't want any club to dissappear. Luton, as much as any other, is a significant club in the English Football League. However, it's not up to Premiership clubs to bail out crooks.

So true this. And because the likes of O'shae etc aer surrounded by such talent, they look better than they are, largely because the confidence rubs off on them. The same was true of Phil neville and Nicky Butt. When we bring in youth or reserves, there's only ever about 3 maybe four players on the pitch to compensate (Torres, Gerrard, Carragher etc.) The rest lack either the talent or the winning attitude. -
I think Mourinho would bring success, but short term. We'd be left with nothing once he'd decided to move on. There is no long term planning in anything he does. I don't think Rafa has got long now, sadly, and I also believe it's fast becoming Rafa's own doing, which is even more sad.

I think Ferguson's is the most likely case actually, and it took him and United many years to rebuild a championship winning team.
-
I've noticed that too. He has some kind of malfunction or meltdown and kinda freezes, then loses the ball. Noticed it most against Man City. I agree that he's not playing that well at the moment, but still scoring which is good.

Who speaks Spanish?

He should stay and if he signs just one person in january, it should be a decent, likeable number two for the players to relate too.
-
I think we all know he's not a good motivator / man manager. Whenever the players talk about him they only talk about his hard working attitude, preparation, tactical awareness. They often mention that nobody gets treated like mates and there are no favourites. He needs a number two, desperately IMO.

With quick fullbacks, like Arsenal, Chelsea & Man Utd.

Fact is, we compete with the other top 4 teams everywhere except out wide and in the 2nd striker position. That's why we draw and they win. Until Rafa has the money to buy proper quality, instead of £7m stop gaps, we'll not be able to compete for the league. A front four of Giggs, Tevez, Rooney & Ronaldo is far better than unfit Kewell, Kuyt, Torres and Pennant. Simple as that. BTW, I thought playing three up front last night with emphasis on width was a good plan. Kirkland made many saves and it could easily have been 3 nil to us. Fine margins in football, that's why we need money for better players.
-
Alonso, Masch, fergie wanted Kewell, quite sure Crouch and Riise would generate interest too. And Yossi, Finnan, Aurelio, Babel (wanted by Arsenal)..... The biggest difference for me is self belief. We have the players, but not the winning mentality. Only 3 or 4 of our players have that "i'm gonna try an win this" attitude. Not enough. That is something Rafa has to sort too, not the players.
-
Yeah Fred, he did. There's no denying that Kuyt can be a real handful, a flipping nuisance for oppo defenders, but that to me sums up why he would make a perfect sub to come on and change the game; to hurry the already tired defenders when we need it. The idea of two from Masch, Lucas & Alonso, with four from Gerrard, Yossi, Torres, Babel and Kewell is exactly what i'd do right now, with a 2-3-1 formation, supported by the usual 4 at the back, particularly against teams like Wigan.
-
Voronin would have played better than Kuyt in that game. He's got more composure and guile than Kuyt when the games are tight and defenders sit back. I thought Yossi was playing very well and needed more of the ball. I would have changed it so Yossi was behind Torres, Gerrard on the right, Lucas or Alonso in the middle, Babel on the left, taking Kuyt and Kewell off. I really believe Rafa could have won that game yesterday with the right changes. When you look at how others have faired at Man City, it's a good result, but looking at the game in isolation, we should have won. I'm getting really fed up of feeling like we "should have won". We need more invention.
-
Thought Torres played much worse yesterday, always on his heels, easily knocked off the ball. Looked knackered to be honest. That aside, we really need to move Kuyt to the bench and sign someone more creative in the 2nd striker role. Our lack of invention is preventing us winning 3 points too often. Should have won yesterday, I don't care how well Dunne played. ps. Sign Dunne - he's been very decent for a long while now.
-
Thought Momo was awful last night personally. Giving the ball away as often as he does is quite simply NOT good enough. I don't care how much he breaks down the play, he just gives it back anyway. Momo has got the yips from somewhere. Get rid if we seriously want to challenge for the league. The money could be better spent elsewhere, say Centre Back.
-
Swap him for Kaka. Gerrard would suit the Milan kit, and vice-versa. I believe that he should at some point go abroad, but doubt he ever will.
-
I'm a big fan of Yossi at the moment. His touch is excellent plus he can actually go past 1 sometimes 2 players quite comfortably. What has surprised me most however is his eagerness to defend when needed and his ability to win headers when needed too. He certainly gives it everything.
-
Kuyt, along with Momo and Vorinin, is one of those sorts of players that if he were to be sold, i'd think to myself, so be it. Since he is currently 2nd choice striker behind Torres, that does worry me some what. In the meantime. I'd like to see Gerrard out wide, with Masch and Lucas in the middle (until Alonso comes back). I'm sure Kuyt would play better then.
-
He's not good enough, that's for sure. Good to have in your squad perhaps. Imagine if Torres had someone in the Bergkamp mould to play off instead.. I honestly think that if Crouch isn't going to start, then Yossi or Kewell would both be better 2nd striker options.
-
I really want Madrid. Failing that, AC Milan please. Thanks.

Whilst I believe this game is massively important and I want nothing more than 3 points. It should also be known that 'Kingsley Royal' for the day will be my mate. More importantly, he's a SPURS fan. So, those going to game, i would very much appreciate it if you abused him about this fact as much as possible. EVIL TRAITOR
