  1. How strange. Good job i keep them accounts open when following the best rates!!
  2. But that's all we actually know right now. So what proof have you got that they are ruining the club then? Maybe you're right, maybe we will be screwed, but where's the proof, other than media speculation and fan hysteria? Maybe they will sell to DIC, maybe they won't. Nobody knows either way.
  3. How does closing an account, therefore reducing your borrowing risk/burden affect your credit rating?
  4. People will always go to the game, it's what fickle fans do. Either way, what do G&H get out of ruining their new franchise on the pitch? Just so I understand their motivations for doing so like.
  5. Leeds got relegated with a good side. Your theory also proves that spending big on players doesn't guarantee success as well. Anyway, back to the point. Will G&H make nothing or a 'hefty profit'? If they make a hefty profit, as in your second scenario, it's because they have sold us, which is what you want anyway. IF they make nothing, as you first suggested, then why the f*** are they here in the first place? Meanwhile, since all this got ugly, Hicks has come out and said he supports the manager, and Rafa has come out and said it's all fine now.
  6. So why are they going/trying to ruin our club then? For the fun of it?
  7. What do G&H stand to gain by running the club into wreck and ruin?
  8. Sounds wonderful, but I just don't buy it. The majority of Liverpool fans don't chat on LFC forums. The discussions in here are self fulfilling / perpetuating. I really think the majority of people in the real world have got too many other things to worry about. We're beginning to sound like Man Utd fans did, and look how they're now doing with the debt. Fact is, we need a new stadium before we can compete long term financially. The club will have to take it easy for a few years until that's complete, because no Roman Abramovich is going to walk in and spend his money on players. And DIC are certainly not going to. If people have a problem with that, blame the previous owner and his side kick. We haven't moved on one bit since they took over (off the pitch). We've got lots of catching up to do and it will not happen overnight.
  9. Answered your own question I think.
  10. Does anyone else think that this will all blow over, that they are here to stay and we will see investment in players and a new stadium? I'm not saying this will happen, but I am beggining to wonder if all this protest talk will only achieve egg on the faces of Liverpool fans in the long run. I really do think we need to wait and see the exact details of what is going on first. Let's face it, either way, the owners will not be forced out by fans. Business just doesn't work that way, particularly the fickle business of football and its fans. Just all seems to be a bit emotional for my liking at the moment, without much evidence to back things up. Or maybe I've just not read all the posts on all the threads yet.

    Dirk Kuyt

Waste of a position on the pitch. When we attack, it's like having only 10 men when he's in the team. Not good enough.

  14. Fans are fickle, banks don't care. See Chelsea and Man Utd for recent fickleness. We'd be the same. Whatever happens, whatever the regime, whoever the manager is, we will all forget if we start winning. The more time passes, the more the younger generations fill the older generations shoes and they won't remember lots of this. Many current fans were not alive the last time we won the league, for example.
  15. I still maintain that if the fans do anything (collectively) it should be make sure that DIC are in no doubt they are wanted. We need to fuel their fire so to speak. Moaning about G&H, publically or privately will not help.
  16. i've played that level. Their will be players have decent control, some with good skill too and they will know the right things to do. They'll play the basics with the fullbacks smacking it into the channels. Their bodies will only allow them to compete for so long though, and they'll be too nervous to show any skills they have. Bizarrely they'll have more time on the ball than they're used too. Semi pro level is very frantic at times. Pass the ball well and you'll tire them out. Never underestimate teams like this though. It's only 90 minutes of their lives so they will give absolutely everything. Ties like this make the FA Cup. I hope Carragher, Gerrard and Torres all start, so the H&W players really have something to remember.
  17. Still just as wealthy though. Great analagy used when they were initially interested. A reporter on the beach in Dubai picked up a handful of sand and said 'this represents the wealth of Abramovich'. He then pointed at the whole beach and said, 'this represens the wealth of DIC's backers'. Or something like that anyway. Back on topic. I'm right and the pessimists are wrong. Signifcant turning point has started. Rafa was even laughing and smiling yesterday. Fingers crossed for Villa game.
  18. Have we established yet whether or not Kaizer actually is Riise?
  19. This thread needs to take over today. Players and Rafa giving Carra a guard of honour before the game tonight.
  20. Champs League? Yes Rafa as Manager? Yes The yanks in charge? Yes Gerrrard, Torres, Masch all walked? No
  21. I think so too. And although the Villa game is way more important, a good win tonight will take confidence into Monday's game. Attack, attack, attack attack attack!!
  22. So, in summary, i'm pretty much on my own. To quote my earlier point. " Life is so much easier when you know where you stand." Well, I guess I know where I stand Seriously though. I like the idea that Rafa can at least now see who he can count on. The who's in who's out approach. Oh well. I will be positive. Come on you Reds!!!
  23. Apologies if you feel this should be in another thread. I'm hoping it's a different enough approach to warrant its own discussion. I might be the only one, but I can't help thinking that this latest episode with Hicks might just be the kick up the backside that everyone on the footballing side of things needs. What better motivation to rally around Rafa and his staff and really go for everything in the 2nd half of the season. Could this be the catalyst that turns draws into wins. Let's face it, we're not that bad. Turn the draws against Boro, City, Spurs, Wigan, Chelsea & Birmingham into wins, which they very nearly were and should have been, then that's another 12 points. I know those games are in the past, and the fact is we didn't win, but we could have. Apart from a lack of confidence/appetite, we're not actually that far away from putting a really good run together. I really believe that now more than ever, the players and coaching staff have the biggest motivation to turn things on. Life is so much easier when you know where you stand. Am I delusional? Am I the only one that feels that actually, this might work in the team's favour?
  24. If people really want to get G&H out then there is only one thing they can do IMO that might work. Rally round DIC (the only seemingly obvious invester capable of a serious takeoever) in the thousands, and I mean many thousands. Make DIC believe they are really, really wanted. Then see just how serious they are. Nothing else will work. G&H won't give too hoots about the fans opinion, just as Glazier didn't. Offer the club an alternative and you might get what you want. So. Who's got the phone number of Shaking Stevens or whatever his name was.

    Hicks:

I thought people wanted the owners to go public with their support for Rafa, right?
