I like him but he doesn't solve our lack of a proper number 6 issue. He's not a ball winner. He's more a Macca replacement.

Still time this season, but I'm not sure I've ever seen Wirtz and Salah ever have a meaningful link up on the pitch, and not sure we ever will. They always appear to be away from each other. Would love to see them try and link up more whilst Salah is still here.

Yeah, he did fine last night. I thought he actually worked harder than we'd seen earlier in the season. That said, he's definitely showing his age now. Scored in AFCON but was also pretty anonymous in general play. I'm also certain he'll be sold in the summer. Him and Frimpong working each other out will still be very useful to us though.

Haha, back at ya. To be honest, I don't actually care. The club needs players, we know that, so do they. Are they not signing because they're replacing Slot in the summer? (First point made) No, I don't believe that point. I think there are other reasons (value, availability etc)

But are the players there and are they available and will they sign for us? We just don't know, do we. Nope, they were emergencies and very cheap and often loans if I'm not mistaken. What people are wanting now is proper signings. I do to. I just don't believe for one minute the club is just not bothering, can't be arsed.

They were not the big investments people are wanting now. Not long term

But there will be other reasons, like player availability, true cost of signing (Guehi) etc...

That's not the point I'm making. I know we have money, but clubs that sign off on over £400m of spend in the summer rarely go again with big spend 6 months later. We know we need a CB, so do they, they almost signed one in the summer. They'll definitely be looking, but value, who's available, when are they available are all factors. We know this lot don't sign for the sake of it, they wait.

If he makes the run the other side the defender sees him and blocks the chance. It was a smart move, he knew the risk and did actually make a move to get back on, it was just unlucky in the timing of the pass.

Sometimes it's the simple things.

Disagree for two reasons. 1. We spent a s*** ton of money in the summer so spending again in January always unlikely. 2. Hughes, Edwards choose who we sign and why. Even if they intend to sack Slot they are still charged with building the squad, not Slot.
