Really influenced the game today, he has great talent. He won't always do it though, he's only 20 and still learning, so it'd be nice if the crowd don't get on his back next time he gets something wrong or has a below par game.

Stevie going is really gutting & it'll really hit home from the start of next season. But in the here & now, the most gutting thing is losing the person, rather than the player. In reality, the player doesn't warrant starting every game, but he wants to. So he's going somewhere where he will. It'd be a bigger f*ck up by the club to keep him, give him what he wants & starts him every week, to the detriment of the team & results.

Pogba is a pipe dream. No chance in hell we'd get him. Firstly, our owners don't do established world class signings. Secondly, if he was available, Real Madrid, Chelsea & City would all be ready to chuck fortunes at Juventus and pay him £250k p/w. In summary, dream on. We'll end up with someone like Delph.

I watched Danny Ward in the warmup for Swansea - where they do the pass and then run up to strike at goal. He barely saved anything. Even rubbish little piddlers rolled past him. I know it's only a warmup and maybe he wasn't really trying. But by f*ck, he looked abysmal. Genuinely no better than a random fan picked out of the crowd.

I'm not saying we'll batter these or anything, but they're 4th division FFS. We might not win by 6 but there's enough of a chasm in class for me not to be majorly worried.

Anyone think we might actually get Shaqiri? £11m bid and more than Juve or Inter have offered apparently. Surely he'd want to come to the PL over Serie A.

Problem is Leo, we'll be saying "couple of wins..." until eventually, the games run out & we find that we're still 7th. My issue with BR is pretty black & white. Ultimately, top teams who win things at the highest level, are defensively sound. BR has no idea how to get his team defensively sound. So in conclusion, I don't think we can genuinely compete for top honours with any consistency with him as manager. Long term, he's not the answer. Shipping goals like we do is unsustainable & doesn't correlate with a side which consistently challenges.

I realise that was the original question asked. But I don't see the relevance of it. Rodgers has clearly used Henderson in the middle & benefitted from his athleticism. The only problem has been on days like today when Henderson is shoved out wide to accommodate Gerrard starting which was the wrong decision.

Is Henderson not athletic?

7 from 9 against Leicester, Burnley and Swansea. We'd be fine if the remaining 18 games were all against this kind of opposition but sadly they aren't. 7 from 9 points in that run of games, after the rubbish start to the season, isn't good enough. And it won't be. We won't make the top 4, largely because (and it pains me to say it) Rodgers isn't yet a manager who learns from his errors. The same problems are there that were there from day one and the biggest fundamental of all is that you don't succeed at the high levels of the game if you can't be defensively sound. We aren't, never have been under his management and I've seen nothing to suggest that he'll ever be able to get us solid and organised at the back. That overrides everything else for me and is the reason that he unfortunately won't succeed as LFC manager.
