  1. Rumours that hicks has been spotted getting into the rescue capsulal as the latest rescued miner got out has yet to confirmed.
  2. "If we'd had a positive result on Wednesday this would have been quite a positive press conference as people would have been talking about Manchester United [last weekend], how well we did in the second half, but all of that flies out of the window." Lifted the above from another forum, did he really actually say that
  3. I thought maybe he'd come out fighting today in his press conference, he's throwing punches alright but they all seem to landing on himself.
  4. If Roy thinks he's been tough and hard with those comments about the 11 from Wednesday, he is either been totally clueless and trying to incorrectly shake the place up. He should be defending the players and trying to get their spirits up, even throwing a few of them straight back in. Those comments are just dividing the camp. Is he taking no responsibility for it at all? He left them at it for 90mins before changing them. He wasn't so quick to put the boot into his mate last week but he'll openly kick his own players in public.
  5. Shot while reaching into his pocket to pull out his "Not welcome anywhere" poster... Bruce Springsteen could have immortalised it in verse....41 Shots Part II
  6. Done. I assume they will all sell our email addresses to spamming company's in revenge
  7. I would be very disappointed if Raul doesn't start. Nothing to suggest he can't "handle" playing at OT. He is ready and we didn't sign two MF in the summer to leave the most expensive on bench when he is an experinced international, played in CL, regular at his previous club and offers us something that we've missed since Alonso left. Players can play 2 games within 4 days, play him from the start when he can influence game and provide a link from the back to Gerrard/Cole/Torres otherwise they'll end up feeding on scraps and long balls. I'd start Aggger as well, defensively he has more pace than Skrtel, as good in the air but he can take the ball out from the back. I'd play Johnson RM and Kelly at RB, United love the width and this will help nullify it but I think the problems will come down our Left side, as no matter who plays its not our strongest side. For the life of me I can't see Johnson playing anywhere other than RB.
  8. 205 people viewing this thread, if everyone posted at once it would confuse the hell of everyone trying to scramble to the end of the thread to see what the sudden burst of posting is about. This has been a truly shocking summer. Every deal seems to have us coming out the wrong side bar Joe Cole. I will pray daily that Torres stays fit, otherwise we may get Aldo out of retirement.
  9. 1603: DEADLINE DAY'S BIGGEST DONE DEALS SO FAR: Marcus Bent [birmingham - Wolves] Loan Salif Diao [unattached - Stoke] Alexander Hleb [barcelona - Birmingham] Loan Martin Jiranek [spartak Moscow - Birmingham] Undisclosed Paul Konchesky [Fulham - Liverpool] Player exchange Zurab Khizanishvili [blackburn - Reading] Loan Rodrigo Moreno [benfica - Bolton] Loan Matt Phillips [Wycombe - Blackpool] £325,000 Stipe Pletikosa [spartak Moscow - Tottenham] Loan Gylfi Sigurdsson [Reading - Hoffenheim] £6m Anthony Stokes [Hibernian - Celtic] Undisclosed From the BBC's transfer day blog. Its like a scrabble players w*** list.
  10. I assume its for the January transfer window as his medical couldn't be possibly done in a few hours
  11. Is El Zhar and Plessis still on the books? You'd have thought they'd have been sold at this stage as they would appear to not even in the back of Roys mind. I suppose they'll be loaned or released by Tuesday for no funds as well.
  12. No idea, I assume he done alright as he kept his place in the Spanish team. In the games I seen him, he didn't stand out but that would have been against the likes of Barca. I'd have him back in a heartbeat though.
  13. At that stage, Alonso had gone a bit stale if the truth be told. The following season he really kicked up a gear and he was suddenly flavour of the month again. When he was available, not too many came looking apart from Juve. At the time Barry was considered the best thing since JC himself. 12mths later he was sold at twice the price.
  14. It goes back to the day H&G met Parry and Moores.
  15. If you want a blockade target the turnstyles. If you have people willing to engage in a blockade and run the high risk of been arrested, they should target direct action at the turnstyles. Co-ordinate everyone at 2.45 or earlier just before the majority go in, at every turnstyle at one time have one person go in and handcuff themselves at one of the turnstyles. Needs alot of people and ideally should be kept low key (ie don't announce it prior to game, only to those involved), this will prevent the club/police having someone with bolt cutters at each area. If after 10 mins every one is realeased, having another one do the same. Its the easiest way I see of carrying out a blockade, the people are running a high risk of getting arrested though but it will cause necessary disruption. Probably lots of other factors and of course there is a risk of panic at the turnstlyes and this may be too risky to take on with with potential for injuries etc. In hindsight, maybe its a terrible idea.
  16. I wish the transfer windo would close and then any signings are sorted. Its a pain that most wait to go through till the last few days. At least when the window closes we can just focus on the wild speculation on the takeover thread. Hard to keep track on both, I dreamt during the week that Crouch and Babel had bought the club and we signed a chinese striker who played from Pizza Shop fc
  17. Thats the measure of the man. Humble and dignified to the end.
  18. The silence from Stevie G is poor form from the club captain. He may be at the world cup but even a statement on the offal would be the least he could do.

    Reserves

In a swimming pool surrounded by several naked birds. But he beat John Terry on the black.
  20. Reina Lucas Carra
  21. Thats real good stuff in fairness
  22. I was once told by a unconverted Villa fan that Learner is not all he's cracked up to be. Any money he has pumped in is in form of loans from his investment company's and that villa are paying a fair interest wedge on them and that the loans will mature in the future when Learner fully expects them to be repaid. Learner likes to take the back seat and in fairness hasn't exposed Villa to the banks but isn't a fairy Godfather who is just going to leave millions in Villa. I wasn't sure what to make of it, considering out pair he looked like a God. Maybe he's beginning to put his exit strategy in place.
  23. Fixed that for you.
  24. ESPN's between the lines or whatever its called was just as bad last night with Craig Burley and Oliver Holt. Both just stopped short of saying the wanted liverpool to fail and miss 4th. Holt was disappointed with match as he likes Everton, their managers and players and wanted then to play well cause they are a good team, so he was disappointed. Liverpool no credit, ref got no discredit and he was disappointed cause again cause he likes Everon and they are a good team. I was puzzled by the exchanges to be honest. When Stubbs suggested Liverpool could now possibly look at 3rd place as a possibility, Holt and Burley where disappointed cause....
  25. I see that Slur Fergie has released his hounds and both Fat head Bruce and Fat head Sam are bitching about the transfer window and the stress it has caused them.
