  1. Also have to consider that Spurs game is Next Tuesday night. No let up for fixtures from here on in.
  2. Talk of Pulis leaving Palace on Sky just now, would be terrible luck for Kelly if the manager that signed him left the same day.
  3. Plenty of lads on Irishkop in similar position or worse. More seats is the obvious answer and hopefully that will come.
  4. First time in years I never managed to get close to a ticket in the sales. Only people who seemed to be in early, well ahead of the sale time, seem to have got sorted. I get over less now anyway but will mean even less now as not having tickets at this stage means flights get dearer by the time you manage to get a ticket. Not sure what the answer is but seems to be a lot of members trying to get very limited number of tickets. One member trying to get to one game can block out a member trying to get to all games and vice versa.
  5. Try being Aspas's agent trying to put this past season Youtube footage together today!
  6. I remember a time when the media would discuss our players with the tag line "wenger would make a great player of him" or "he'd thrive in a wenger team", Babbel was a prime example. How the tables have turned.
  7. Seems very much the case. I imagine some of the papers will dress it up and run with it.
  8. Anyone on twitter following @mephobia8. Seemingly a finance guy from wall street. Had dinner with FSG last night and is tweeting about the comments he gathered from them. Real is the only club that Suarez wants to play for and sees 100m as a fair price. Not sure if this guy is talking out his rear or what. He also says club looking at new CEO in summer.

The players would be getting a flat rate grant per year - it was more a number of years back, a few grand but is about €750 per year. I'd know a few players on county panels and they would get well looked after in terms of expenses, gear, nutrition, facilities, medical/physio etc. They don't even have to wash their own gear anymore. I know you'd have strong connections in the game and not sure how they are looked after. I'd agree that something has to give but to me, its the demands on the players. At intercounty level its gone beyond the pale. While fitness levels and S&C has gone through the roof, the quality of the games itself haven't. Last year was very entertaining in terms of championship in both codes but we'd have regular years like that with huge rivalaires that bring intensity and drama to the games. County teams need to be curtailed in the length of the season and the demands they put in players - not sure how they can do this but compressing the season is one. The players will play a dozen competitive games now from January to early April and then for another 3/4 months some teams will play 2 championship games. I'd be the local club chairman and we'd be a fairly big club. The demands been put on club resources is now huge and the expectation is to match what county teams are doing. Some of the cowboy coaches doing the rounds and the money they local to take club teams is crazy. The games need a lift at club level as this is the biggest risk to the games - club teams are struggling to field at underage level and then the club season at senior level is so disjointed, last year we played a load of games before May, then played 3 games in June/July and August. No club action as the county teams dictated the action. Then September it was full on with 2 games a week. In other counties this was worse and players are waiting/training 6 months to play a championship game and then are beat and are out. This needs serious looking at or the club scene is going to struggle more than it already is. I think they have nothing to lose going to Sky, 3 years ago this package wasn;t even on free to air TV, so its no big departure and will hopefully shake up very bland and predicatable RTE who are rolling out the same old "up for the match" programming this years,
  11. iI'm convinced his first half, cross field pass in his own half that went straight for a throw-in for Liverpool was a pass to a yellow logo that appeared on the graphics of the advertising hordings and he thought it was a sunderland shirt when he looked up.

The other half is about ways to get to Fulham without using the tube.

I don't think you can start Kelly, purely on the basis that he is cover for CB with Agger and Shako still out. If he starts and breaks down or runs outa steam, then we don't have any cover at CB. Cissokho was solid defensively and offered little on the ball but he was a very willing runner down the left which stretched Everton, even if he was as likely to do as much damage as one of the ballboys. Saying that, when bodies get back fit, he is the first to be dropped.
  15. Liverpool to sign LED, future starlet and will save the club money over years. Have to check out CM to see what he's like
  16. Yeah, react would be the more apt word.
  17. Collymore had a few tweets that disappeared very quickly including one about the club getting its employees to wear t-shirts supporting casual racism, so the fans should be not be expected to be different. His favourite comeback to disagreement seems to be bigging himself up as having achieved so much in the game and that a non-footballer opinion matters to someone like him, an ex-england international. Strange attittude for someone who depends on the public to interact with him.
  18. My link Seen this posted on another site by some stat junkie who has done a right bit of analysis on Suraez it would seem. I seen it and thought Moneyball, very detailed and to be honest, I struggled to finish it, in fact I didn't! But someone may find it interesting.

  22. Ken Jeong is to play Jen Chang in the movie.
  23. Yeah for sure, i will look at doing more sprints and an Olympic distance and see how they go. The half ironman would come after that, all going well. Lot to do before the 5 year plan looks a reality. Fair play on the Ironman in March. Macca, With those times you should defo push on for the full. I was told that for the NY marathon you can apply each year and if you miss out 3 times, you are guarantee'd entry the fourth thime. This a myth or anything to it?
  24. An Ironman would be on my "To do list". This time last year, I was planning on doing my first 5km race in December, this year I'm just over two weeks from my first marathon in Dublin. I have done a few sprint Triathlons and longer distance Duathlons. Long way to go to do the Ironman distance and really need to improve the swimming for stamina and technique but once marathon is done, going back to get lessons in the pool to correct the technique. I've set myself a target of doing one within 5 years.
  25. What is the purpose of the big long couch in the long narrow room? The wall and "things" are about a foot in front of it. Its like a waiting room.
