  1. Still being in with a shout of winning the league in April would have been nice.....
  2. More like a Wingnut.

I do, he started out as a centre half and initially played there for Villa. Then he moved to left back, then left mid and then centre mid.

Silva has six years remaining on his contract with Valencia, I can only see this happening for silly money.

Were you also against Gerrard playing anywhere other than centre mid until he finally made a success of playing in the hole? Why people have to pigeon hole good players into certain positions I'll never understand, it's about what's best for the team not the individual. Agger has enough pace - certainly more than Riise and Aurelio. He carries the ball out superbly from the back and his distribution has been a big loss to us this season. For a couple of examples there's Lilian Thuram - a World Class centre half in his day who had a blinder of a World Cup at right back and then, for those of you with short memories, our own Markus Babel - again a top quality centre half who ended up being the best right back in the Premier League until his career was cruelly derailed by illness. Agger at left back means we can play our four best defenders at the back and both he and Arbeloa get forward well enough.

Poor is going a bit far he didn't do much wrong.
  7. I think he's got about four weeks left, they're not going to sort anything let's face it. They can only force him out.
  8. The clocks ticking on Hicks being able to veto Gillette selling to DIC, if he can't find the funds to buy Gillette out and DIC come in he's either got to put up or shut up and ship out by selling to DIC.

The left back we've been looking for!

Looks like Sven's had his marching orders from City. Cheeky bid for Petrov anyone?
  11. Quite right, we can't match them in terms of spending at the moment so continuity and sustained investment is the way.

I don't think the need for a left back is that pressing and we can afford to sell Riise without a direct replacement. I reckon Arbeloa Carragher Skrtel Agger would be a great back four.

Arbeloa is better than that. Deggen worries me though, two mates of mine who live in Germany say he's slow and very average. They said the same about Voronin. Maybe our Bundesliga scout needs sacking.

Can't find anything about a new contract on Atletico's website, I read somewhere he's available on a Bosman either this summer or next.
  15. Currently on a par, the league dont finish until May and what's going on off the pitch can't have helped. Neither Villa, Everton or City have a manger who's been publicly underminded or for that matter have won the Champions League and/or FA Cup. Some people have short memories. I wonder if the delay in the Mascherano deal is because of the takeover?
  16. Because we haven't competed financially with Chelsea or the Mancs and we haven't had a manager in place long enough to sort a youth system and scouting network out that's as good as Arsenals.
  17. Obviously but its easily sorted with a vote, as he says it's up to the group to make it work.
  18. Out of the frying pan into the fire springs to mind here. You'd be better off backing the share liverpool scheme and you don't need £5k a group of you (people from this forum for example) could club together for a share. Rogan Taylor said: we would encourage ´group´membership to help avoid exclusion. One member of the group would need to be nominated as the ´voting member´ and it would be up to the group to make sure he represented the majority..... Rogan

  20. What it would give you is peace of mind that the club is in the right hands. It's not about profit or personal gain otherwise we may as well leave it with Statler and Waldorf.
  21. What you'd have to do is inform any scabs on the waiting list that they'd be losing their ticket after the takeover.
  22. Taxi driver.
  23. No I'm implying that if we got enough together to make a reasonable offer we could apply financial pressure on them to sell. Just one example would be to boycott season ticket renewalls and promise the holders they get them back after the takeover, he'd soon change his tune.
  24. They've got every f***ng intention of selling, if they get their way the club will be on the stock market once the stadium is built and they'll be getting fatter off the back of it.
