It's got to be the worst song I've ever heard on the Kop, made worse last night by the performing seals that I had the misfortune to be sitting amongst in the 1892 section repeating it ad nauseum. Each to their own like but I find that section takes the spontaneity away from the Kop and I'll be avoiding it like the plague in future.

First half I'd agree, second half I think he was slowing the build up play down too much and wanted him subbed for Riera with Babel pushed up front with Kuyt. First half we dominated and were unlucky not to score and as the second half progressed we looked more and more nervous. I don't understand why Pennant started at all, why not start Benayoun who's always more likely to unpick a packed defence.

Sorry but that's just utter tosh, for a kick off it's too early to call and he looks very very good going forward. He's come from a league where the game gets played at near walking pace so at least cut him some slack while he adapts to defending in the Premiership. Exactly how many of the four goals we've conceeded in the league this season would you blame him for considering he was off the pitch for two of them yesterday?

Put it this way, if I were Vidic or Ferdinand I wouldn't be losing too much sleep over marking Kuyt. Babels pace and unpredictability would bother me more. Better player maybe, better defender I've yet to be convinced. He looks good going forward but the jury's out on his defensive game for me.

Sunderland, Standard Liege * 2 and Villa? He's not faced forwards of the calibre of Rooney, Tevez and Berbatov in those games has he! He's come from a league where the game is played at walking pace he's going to need time to adjust and I hope he does but he's had some very shaky moments in those four games and I don't want him in the team against the Mancs.

When since was it a requirement for wingers and playmakers to go flying into tackles and be good at tracking back? Surely that's a bonus no more? IMHO if your fullback needs protection from his winger then he's the problem not the winger.

Disagree, I think he's well good enough. His form dipped a bit last season with injury but he's a very capable footballer and a good defender.
