  1. Everything that Gillett and Hicks say makes me think we are on a winner here. These guys know their s***, are visionaries on the stadium side of things. Moores knows and loved the club and in Rafa we have the best manager in the world. I have to say I'm excited, and I felt gutted when the takeover was announced, but this kind of thing is convincing me the future is really bright. I don't think the City Council will stand in their way if its pitched right. They have the cash and the vision. I also think the Amercian can do atittude and positivity will be great not only for the club but for the City as a whole. Unless you are a blues**** of course.
  2. Oh aye its a s**** hole alright, but it went from being a town of inbred yorkshire f***wits to being the second financial centre to London due to a bit of decent planning. I think Manchester may now have caught up. The point is Liverpool's rightful place is as the country's second or third biggest city. But I don't think the people at its helm see that potential.
  3. Spot on. Being a wool its not my place to state that, but its exactly how I see it. Time in the US and Asia has taught me that everyone knows about the City of Liverpool, and those in charge, especially post Thatcher aren't really doing it justice, especially if you compare it with Manchester or Leeds in the last 10-15 years. You could be right about 2008 being the big sea change. I hope so.
  4. Do you know when the Waterfront redevelopment decison is due to happen Knox/Kev? I agree, 90 isn't too mad. I seem to remember that at its peak Liverpool had something like 1.2 million population, and its now down to about 300,000 (totally from memory, one of the forum pedants can give more accurate figures!). It'd only take something like the Waterfront think to completely kickstart the City again.
  5. Unfortunately not. I tell you, I'd give anything for Liverpool to become a booming City again and have the kind of work I do. I'd be up there like a shot. The City Council really needs a kick up the a***, the City has been sleeping for too long. Of course the dyed in the wool Scousers will hate the influx of OOT'er......

  7. I'm not sure how likely that is, but I've always thought as a City, Liverpool is a sleeping giant. Its taken a kicking for half a century but it has a 'big' feel about it, like a Shanghai, a Yokohama, even a New York (on a smaller scale, granted). It'll only take someone with some vision and in a period of 20 years or so it could all be very different. Then there's the city council and the evertonians mind...
  8. I like it. Could see Lampard and Terry following him.
  9. Jose goes to Real. Terry and Lampard refuse new contracts as a result. They implode next season and Roman pulls out. Parts one and two are almost there....
  10. Unless the rest of Europe does it, everyone will feck off to Italy/Spain etc like they used to in the 80's. I'd like to see Ronaldo and Lampard feck of though, so perhaps it isn't such a bad thing.
  11. So you'd seriously doubt if there was any truth in this Fyds? I kind of want it to be true as I think we could fill a 70k stadium. I also really think it should have a Kop.
  12. As someone over 6ft, I'd love more leg room lol. I think there could be something in this, the plans were done before we had investment and cash to spend. Its a different ball game now. We can certainly press ahead with clearing Stanley Park and getting it ready hwilst other stuf gets ironed out. Just watched the clips of the Kop at the Barca game. The ew one should be bigger, better and even more terrifying.

  18. Read it again. I didn't say they were rubbish. I said their attitude leaves a lot to be desired. Look at the two photos in the general. I'd say that looks pretty factual. QED.
  19. Dunno Anders. Eto'o is always gobbing off which suggests a lack of maurity, Ronnie is following the Rooney pie diet and believes his own hype. I'm not sure Rafa could be arsed. He likes players who are already motivated, not need motivating.
  20. Cheers. Got a mac unfortunately..... a***.
  21. Where could I watch these on the interweb, if I so desired?
  22. Top gossip Pat. I'd have liked to have done them tonight again and we deserved it to be honest. I think you are right about the manager, he's out of his depth.
  23. Kop end in the second half though. It'll go in up there.
  24. Puyol really is a horrible c***
  25. It'll come. Believe.
