Bolox did I. It was quite simply a ST and about £150 more than a normal ST back then.

The price was higher becaue: a. You get every home game regardless of competition b. It is quite literally the best spec in the house c. You get the added bonus of somewhere to have a drink and a bit of grub. It was was sold as a ST to the fans and I remember the advert in the programme.

So how comes mt ST went up by over 12% and wtf do they have to go up at all, bearing in mind the enormous amount of money they are getting from TV in the next few years.

Ahh, understood. Ditto. Except I do want Lampard to get injured.

Laugh if they went down then.

I was under the impression taht you were one of the few of us on the board that actually want England to do well in the World Cup??

Yep. So basically what we are hoping for is for Lampard to get injured. No change there then.

Can someone answer me wtf we have got Jenas in the squad when we have 7 other players who can play one of two positions in CM and only 4 people (one an untried 17 year old) that can play in 2 positions up front?

No he hasn't. John Terry and Makelele have.

Not at all. John Terry is a chav, I hate him like everyone else does but he's a fantastic CD and I wouldn't advocate Carra in front of him and am quite happy he the CD. Likewise I am happy that Beckham, Cole and Neville are in the team. It's not about club loyalty, it's about the fact that Lampard is HUGELY overrated just because he plays for Chelsea.

Spot on, and it's not ofetn I say that with Stevie H's name in the same sentence.

Showed again last night that he is the most over rated midfielder since David Platt. No wonder he never gets injured, he never tackles or runs. Eriksson should be building a team around Gerrard as the central midfeilder and that means having the balls to drop Lampard and playing a midfielder to suit Gerrard, instead he insists of having a player who only scores mainly penalties, deflected free kicks or deflected shots. He's not a big game player, never has been, and until Sven realises that Gerrard HAS to be THE arttacking midfielder, we will be handicapped in the WC and will not get close to winning it. Gerrard and Carrick, a la Gerrard and Alonso, Or Gerrard and Carra, a la Gerrard and Hamann. Aye thank you.

I went to the game as well James, and I've been to loads of England games. Last night was nothing like a "normal" Engalnd game although there were plenty of donuts there (you and I for a start before someone else gets it in), and certainly nothing like the crowd that follow England to the championships. Thought Crouch got an excellent reception before, during and when he was taken off. Only Owen and Walcott got better receptions. Only players who shone for me were Lennon, Crouch, Cole and Carra. The rest (especially Downing and Jenas) were v. poor IMO.

Well, I'm taking the boys to see it and they're well chuffed - Carra, Crouch and Owen playing. Looking forward to it.
