I looked at that post and was going to type the exact same phrase, or Masch for that matter. I'd prefer M'Vila (I've actually seen him play) but Comolli seems to rate Matuidi and he knows better than I do.

Depending on who you believe he is now our top defensive target - crazy he is only 19! He is a tank. Unbelievable potential. Mata-Carroll-Suarez = Goals Hazard-Carroll-Suarez = Goals Either people Mr John W Henry, with a slight preference towards Hazard for the 'bums off seats' factor and everybody likes a bit of that.

Never seen Matuidi play, he's meant to have the best stats for a DM in France though so sounds decent - I just wonder if he can play a bit too as its a major advantage if you have a DM who can. Think Busquets / Alonso v's Momo / Masch

Wouldnt trust him in a midfield two like Spurs play Modric bu certainly has some similar qualities. Reckon the head of a midfield three? Worth the risk for that price.

Agree with you 100% there, my comment was about his defensive work and tracking back etc, he just doesnt much of it at all. I guess this saves his energy to do damage at the other end of the field.

Not sure, one thing that is for certain is his talent. As someone mentioned above Ronaldo's workrate is pretty no existent in terms of defense but no one seems to complain.
