I think he'll be just fine, he's only 20 and has got some major attibutes going for him - he is definitely Kenny's player and someone I've no doubt he'll get the best out of playing in a system that will suit his type of player. He is quite technical for a 20 year old English midfield player, this pleases me.

Pretty damn good point you make there. Games like these it might take a messy goal from a freekick or corner and we havent had that since Sami left (minus a few cameos from the Greek) and now we do, even more so if Mr Adam is finally allowed to join us, him and Carroll could be a deadly combo. I'm dearly hoping for a Carroll goal in a one nil win at the toilet next year with 6 3" Andy outjumping and outmuscling 5 11" Phil Jones at the stretford end in the 95th minute. Pandemonium.

Centre mid, attacking mid, free roaming, to the right, wherever Kenny wants him bascially - hes a great option to have and played and impressed in winning teams v the scum, city and got the winner at Chelsea. He is a very good player, we need as many as them as we can.

FWIW I'd keep all three of Merieles, Maxi, Agger - quality players who we dont need to sell / get rid of. The likes of Cole, Konch, Poulson, Jones, Ngog, Aurelio (shame), Jovanovic contributed zero last season. I really dont understand the 'let Merieles go' line that people are going with - it is a squad game and five top centre mids is what we will need going forward and he is a very good player, rather we have him than dont... Shame about Aqua too as I rate him and reckon he would have been excellent in Kenny's system.

And dont get everyone started on £20m Stewart Downing

We could have Gerrard / Lucas / Raul / Henderson / Adam as five going for three places in midfield, that is a perfect number of top players competing for centre mid spots at at top club. Selling Raul and not replacing him with someone on top of Adam and Henderson wouldnt be a smart move at all IMO.

I really like Raul, would still have him in the starting 11 with the Henderson / potential Adam signings.

And one I'm very happy with. Our threat from corners and freekicks will improve greatly as soon as he signs. He can pick a through ball too. Different option to our midfield which is looking very nicely stocked for once. Very happy with that.
