What a player, what a player!! I've never heard of him before, I wish he was 20, we'd just paid £30m for him and he did it for the other 89mins. Better than Best.

I would have said deffo - Lucas is our only holding player, yes Spearing is a defensive player but doesnt hold. I think an upgrade on Spearing and someone to keep Lucas on his toes. What happens if Lucas gets a bad injury? We are f***ed in that position.

Biggest tactical negatives for me on Saturday were: 1) Kelly not starting at right back 2) Aquilani & Maxi not being options from the bench, could have been on there instead if Ngog at least as we already had Kuyt on there 3) The second half, moving Downing in the middle and Merieles left, didnt make much sense 4) Leaving Carroll very isolated, could have pushed Kuyt up there with him, we were playing Sunderland at home Positives (not necessarily tactical): 1) Enrique, looks a top drawer player 2) Downing, looked excellent, when on the wing 3) Agger, hope he stays fit 4) Adam, top deliveries and although he tired second half showed what he can give us 5) That 1st half

Could have done with him off the bench in Sat as he is still our player. Needed more guilde and craft and he has both, silly we are paying him and not using when he could still be of some use, like in the 2nd half on Saturday.

Know what you mean about the left, ideally we'd have as many wingers as the scum have, but we had none before Downing, zero. I still think we need a right winger, yes we have a lot of players who can play right mid, but none with the pace and trickery to really stretch teams when needed, would have been perfect to have one of these types on the bench against Sunderland on Saturday to bring on to mix it up, but we havent. I agree about the back up for Downing, but I also think we need an out and out right winger to mix things up as and when needed.

Suarez has pretty much a free role by the looks. I'd really like to see a front six of: Carroll/Kuyt Downing Suarez Gerrard Adam Lucas Striker is it a difficult one as Kuyt was superb there last season and Carroll has a bit to prove to make the position his own with Kuyt's superior movement, he certainly has all the tools though!

We dont actually have HAVE a right winger though, all those you mention never wingers. You could play Maxi on the left for example, still wouldnt be a winger. I dont see the harm in giving Sterling 20 mins at the end of games, I reckon he has the pace and skill to really take it to tiring teams however raw.

Agreed and competition for Lucas. Would have thought we needed a right side considering we have Downing? I know he can play right, but I always think wingers who are left footed should play left wing, apart from Arjen Robben who is a freak. No that man would be a signing.

Cahill, cover/competition for Lucas at defensive midfielder and a fast and tricky winger come striker (thinking along the lines of Gervinho) and we'd be complete as a squad.
