  1. I don't think Srtkel is very good. One very good season, the rest haven't been very good.
  2. I like Brendan and the way he goes about this stuff, deffo a people person... A ref in our place says some of his mates went to a talk held by Brendan and said they were all stupidly impressed with how articulate he was about football and how they all thought he would go on to me a top class manager. Sort this s*** defending out.
  3. I would like to see Sturridge in for Downing with Suarez and Coutinho in behind. Quite like the idea of Sama starting, lets go nuts.
  4. For £12m we could deffo do better in terms of age for one and ability. I would rather have Williams in our team than Srtkel. We Carra going, he would be first choice, he likes to defend this lad. We could spend our money a lot better and need to if we are going to compete.
  5. That was quite early to have drunk that much
  6. We can dream
  7. These Rafa quotes are the equivalent signing competition for Jose at left back to 'keep him on his toes'. Only we haven't signed Rafa, he isn't a left back and Brendan Rodgers would look really f***ing silly stood on his toes all the time, even if he means he would such a short a***.
  8. Him and Xabi will be boss for us next season

    Coutinho

    More players like him please
  10. Some of our players could certainly do with some of those
  11. Agree with all of that. Her would have been a 'good option off the bench', but these things shouldn't really cost £35m and 80k a week....
  12. I think he is a very good number 9 but wouldnt mind one bit if we signed someone better. Although they could both be classed as deep lying playmakers I think Alonso is different to Sahin in that his defensive positioning is excellent and having him sat there with two of Gerrard, Lucas, Allen and Henderson ahead of him would give us so much better balance that we have now. We deffo need another top class attacking player to go with Suarez, Coutinho and Sturridge.
  13. Ayre is never a chief exec, he is a finance and contracts guy and judging by the size of our sponsors and shirt deal he is a very good one. Just get Big David Dean in and have done with it, move Ayre over to what is best at and for God's sake keep his mouth away from any form of microphone / communication device
  14. I think the potential team you have selected for us is our best team for away games. Brilliantly done again Rory, they should give you a job.
  15. In comparison to other positions we deffo are, who knows, we also have Borini who we could either keep to compete with Sturridge or sell to Italian side and buy someone esle for up there, someone like Bony for example.
  16. I think we are covered for the first team number 9: Sturridge. Think we definitely in need of a first team centre back who is excellent in the air as well as on the deck and a top class replace for Downing in the first 11, after that you could argue we need a top class CM, Alonso would be ideal for me, but that seems fantasy.
  17. Exactly. I like Rodgers, I really do and deffo want him here next season, but even a person with the most rosiest of red tinted glasses could see that the side he picked for Southampton was the wrong one before we kicked off - hey maybe even you could admit it? I'd certainly agree with that to a point, better players with bigger balls = more wins. Making the best with what you have using systems can also help to a point too. PS I think Xabi would be perfect for us.
  18. Think he has been naive tactically and has chosen the wrong system for the wrong games at times, yesterday being the latest and Southampton before that. Villa away was good but West Ham needed a different system and we stuck with the previous team, should have brought Sturridge in for the extra man in midfield for me.
  19. Quick tactical summary from the last three games: Southampton: Got it completely wrong, a bit of homework on them would have said we needed to play three in the middle, one of which had to be Lucas. The Lucas for Allen sub didnt help as we need an extra man in there. Villa: Very good, there is a case for playing three CMs in all the away games to makes sure we give ourselves a chance of controlling the game and are tighter defensively West Ham: Poor again for me. Against teams like this we should look to win the game and having hammered teams playing Downing, Coutinho, Sturridge and Suarez this should have continued with Sturridge being our number 9. Playing three in the middle and with Sturridge on the bench isn't going to help us get wins, then bringing Sturridge on and not playing him on the last man didn't help either. We are looking a bit lost tactically at the moment when it could be a lot simpler, i.e.: Away from home and against the top sides at home go 4-3-3 with Sturridge up top and Coutinho and Suarez as the other two and bring Downing on if we need to. At home against the weaker teams or teams that come for a point (such as West Ham) play Downing instead of the extra midfielder (Henderson in this case) and bring the extra man on if we need to. I reckon with these simple (and they are) tactical changes then we'd do pretty well, even with this squad. Starting to get a bit lost in what he is trying to do, seems to me he is finding things that work one game (Villa away) and then using the same thing in a different game (West Ham at home) and it isn't really working as they need different solutions... My two pennies.
  20. A front three of Sturridge, Suarez and Coutinhoooo is dreamy
  21. To Sturridge or not to Sturridge?
  22. Henderson has both pace and energy.
  23. Saves us a few quid and I think he suits our system better (wider, quicker and better running with the ball) Lucas, Allen Henderson competing for that other spot.
  24. Do we though? Or do we need someone who has excellent positional sense and can reduce that massive space teams seems to find against us? Why do they have to be 'athletic'? I'm not convinced, for example Busquets, who is probably the best at what he does in the world isnt all that athletic, it is about know where to position yourself rather than running around after people ala Masch - there are two types, one that sits and holds (Xabi) and one that runs and hassles people for the ball (Masch), I actually think we need a sitting type more.
  25. Xabi playing in a midfield two at Real, him and Keirdra and has four out and out attacking players in front of him, doesnt seem to do too badly there... Him sitting with Gerrard and one of the other three in front of him would be excellent. Xabi Stevie - Henderson/Lucas/Allen Super. Just thrown that Eriksen lad on when we need a goal PS loads of very good midfields dont have a 'Masch' type - Barca's for one and he plays for them.
