  1. Don't mind FSG's loan approach to be honest. Only paying a percentage of wages, bring them in, if they settle, pay for someone already settled. Makes a lot of sense. From a business perspective, it complements their high transfer fee, low wage type approach.
  2. Allen, Gerrard, Sahin, Suarez, Dempsey & Sturridge. Huge difference.
  3. I don't know, it's a matter of passion. He lives for the moments when the match is on the line. He thinks too much when it's an easy chance. I'm a striker and I do that too actually. My difficult goals are easier than simple finishes. I want to show someone up and say, yes, that's right, now what do you have to say? I kind of understand him. Someone just has to help him settle down and convince him of his possible tally vs. his beautiful goals.
  4. Well the west ham chairman tweeted that it does include an option to buy. That's enough for me really
  5. As highly rated as Yesil, Sterling and Suso though?
  6. Haven't heard much of Teixera. Is he in the same bracket?
  7. Can't wait to see Yesil, Sterling and Suso in the next few years!
  8. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBJgOH0YNtc&feature=player_embedded Anybody else see the elements of Masch's game that he has in his own end? The tenacity, speed, closing down, and shorting passing to keep possession. He appears to me to be in the middle of Masch and Xabi.
  9. My assumption is that Walcott isn't coming here to sit on the bench. Saurez, Gerrard, Sahin, Allen and Lucas aren't being dropped. Borini is the only option in that 6 that may sub out for Walcott. Do tell, where and how does Walcott take a place in the starting XI otherwise?
  10. I don't believe Walcott is the answer seeing as how he's not much of an upgrade on Borini at this stage. With Sahin arriving, Gerrard & Suarez are up top. We need an out-and-out striker to put the ball in the net in that front 3. Unless BR thinks that Suarez is that player, I don't see Walcott as the solution.
  11. I think he'll sign after that
  12. Dunno if anyone's seen this one:
  13. We've been linked to Muniain who played for Spain from what I recall?
  14. Andy must stay. He's the best header of the ball in the country and he provides us with an option we don't have in the air up front. It'll be a mistake selling him now. He had a great end of season and didn't look out of place at the Euro - scored a cracker of a header as well from, who else, Stevie G. Let him fight for his place. If he digs his heels in, I'll support him 100%.
  15. I'll take them.
  16. That would be Lucas more as opposed to Gerrard if you're talking about the Barcelona model and how Italy played with De Rossi.
  17. If AVB comes in, I can see him keeping Aquilani.
  18. If we can get some goal scorers in and start winning some games, that would take a lot of pressure off of our under performing players. Our lack of finishing really showed this year.
  19. I'd keep him around simply for his crossing ability. It provides an option for Carroll. There are few better headers of the ball than him.
  20. We still need to improve our wings. Enrique / Downing aren't good enough as a tandem. If we sign a star who can play either the left or right wing position (and keep Downing on the bench), we may find some stability. It is everybody's first season after all. Sign that player and a goal scorer who can push Carroll who's starting to show his ability and we're sorted. I don't think we need more than two 1st team players this summer, e.g. Lavezzi and Higuain. Keep Downing, Adam and Spearing on the bench.
  21. We need someone like Lavezzi and someone to push Carroll for a starting place. We should go back to 4-2-3-1 with Suarez on the wing in a free role and Lavezzi on the other. Put Gerrard behind the striker supported by Lucas and Henderson.
  22. Signing Elm would be a nightmare. Hopefully he doesn't live on a street near Anfield.
  23. It's definitely not Carroll because of his age. We've showed that we're willing to be patient with him from the day he arrived. He has time on his side. Downing was supposed to solve our wing problems for good and he hasn't done that.
  24. Keep Carroll, shift Suarez to the left wing in a free role and get a true striker to play alongside Carroll. Keep Kuyt and Bellamy. Kuyt has great match-winning ability and Bellamy fits well into the style of play. Downing can stay if he parks his rear on the bench. Sell Adam.
  25. He's 22 now
