Incorrect. It's people's use of religion to justify their behaviour, whether they're Muslim, Jew or Christian. There are extremists in every religion.

Mata, Lavezzi, Higuain. Take your pick.

He's passing to a Blackpool player. No offense but if Stevie G is on the end of that pass and he doesn't bottle the pass, then we'll talk. If it doesn't come off, Stevie will rip into him. Adam's success here will depend solely on his self-confidence when players of higher calibre are expecting him to pull that off regularly. I'm not so sure he can. Without that, he doesn't really offer much to be honest.

Roux Roux Roux your boat Gently down the stream Meireles Meireles Meireles Meireles ....

I have to say that, looking at our transfer strategy, I'm a bit confused as to how we plan on fitting these potential signings of Adam, Downing and Mata into what we already have with Kuyt, Suarez, Carroll, Meireles, Gerrard, Henderson and Lucas. The only solution I see is shifting Gerrard into his preferred CM role and going 4-2-3-1: Suarez playing in a free role off of Carroll, Kuyt on the right (IMO he's just undroppable), and Mata on the left, with Gerrard and Lucas in the midfield 2. Going 4-3-3 with Suarez on the left or right just leaves no room for a Mata or Kuyt in the lineup, and I think we'd all agree that both are needed: we need another forward to help unlock defenders in Mata and Kuyt works his socks off and has to be in the starting XI. Hence: -Spending 15-20m on Downing who would be second choice and only really provides a cross is outrageous, yet getting a left winger in the 8-12m range is important. N'Zogbia? -Spending 10m on Adam as a back-up when Meireles isn't a defensive midfielder (though I believe he's played there once or twice before), also doesn't make much sense. Matuidi? -Obviously we also need a back-up to Carroll. Wickham? What I see working is: -Henderson backing up Kuyt. -An N'Zogbia backing up Mata. -A Matuidi and Meireles backing up Gerrard and Lucas. -A Wickham to back-up Carroll. -new CB -new LB I don't see room for a Downing at that price, or Adam. Anyone else?

Ya apparently we upped our bid when the deal with the scum stalled. I read it somewhere.

Apparently they've done so at 19m.

Lansbury looks a player.

I've never seen him play but that video is really promising. He was the go-to man it seems and kept the ball moving. Very tidy.

How dare he!

Apparently Suuuuuu-arez played on the right, not the left, for Ajax.

I disagree. At most times, Sneijder is the main goal threat for Inter. He scores in big games. He's more a VDV. Modric and Diego are set up guys.

I think we're going 4-3-3. I don't think 4-4-2 suits our squad.

We don't need Aguero but we do need Hazard? Are you mad? Aguero is far more proven than Hazard. We should be so lucky to get Aguero.

While I believe we'll pay up to someone's worth, from my understanding we didn't technically pay 35m for Andy Carroll. Apparently, we told Chelsea that they owe us 15m + whatever Newcastle want for Carroll for Torres. It was Newcastle that came up with that 35m and it went directly from Chelsea.

I'd really try hard for Aaron Lennon this summer. His speed, trickery and crossing ability down the right would be a great complement to Suarez, Carroll and Gerrard. He did some nice one-touch passing in the box against us today and I can see that working wonders with that group. The problem is I can't see us dropping Kuyt. Can Lennon play the left wing too? Against top sides, I'd like to see something like Carroll, Suarez, Gerrard, Lennon, Lucas and M'Vila/Matuidi as the front 6. Obviously a Sanchez or Aguero would be ideal but it's currently a pipe dream I believe. Add a left winger (Maurveaux), left back (Enrique though I'd love N'Zogbia who can also alternate as a left winger), centre back (Cahill) and back-up striker (?) and we're solid.

Is Aquilani ours now?

Seems like a Long shot.

I feel like we need someone like Aquilani back, but we also need a Mascherano type as well to win the ball back. If we push Gerrard into attack, and put Meireles in the Aquilani role, we only need one player in midfield (M'Villa?). Maybe bring in another forward like Suarez for the other side playing off Carroll and keeping Lucas in the squad. Then we need a left back and a center back to replace Carra/Kyrgiakos. 4 quality players in for me.

He did it regularly with Uruguay during the World Cup. He was sensational.

Skrtel is meant to be our hard defender and our version of Vermaelen or Vidic. He's the only centre back we have that has the tools to take the game over at the back. Agger is more of a passing, marauding type that will start the counter-attack but he's not great in the air. Carra is old, Sami would be too old. We need Agger matched with a younger version of Carra. Skrtel doesn't seem like that player right now.

So frustrating.

Why is every goal that we let in off a set piece? FFS

Or an opportunity to prove himself because he's been well under expectations for the last 2 seasons.

How about Carra in the centre and Skrtel on the right? He has pace, can pass a ball and is hard as nails. Some way has to be found to play Agger, Skrtel and Carra in the same team every week. Skrtel is too good to be sitting on the bench. Plus our right back position seems to be weak now with Degen's injury, Finnan getting older and moving on, and double-A possibly going back to Spain.
