FSG are putting all their eggs into the Fifa Fair Play basket. Rather than buying / keeping players on high wages and paying high transfer fees, they're buying young and cheap talent that will be with the club long-term and go on to increase their value. For the doom and gloomers who are afraid that they'll just sell them off for a profit, that goes against what they stand for. They want to create a sustainable model where we don't need to spend exorbitantly for a player as we'll have players coming up from the youth ranks. While other teams will be struggling with their transfer fees and wage structures, we won't. Also, buying youth players like Chirivella, it's my understanding that in a few years they'll be considered home grown. While it's true that a lot of next season hinges on the next month, a lot of our future hinges on FFP coming into action as it should.
