During Liverpools visit to Norway a mate of mine spoke to both Comolli and Ayre at a meeting. They said that a new left back was a priority. Asked about a new central defender Comolli, surprisingly, said that they were not looking for a new one, as Carra, Skrtel and Agger were good enough. He was raving about Agger and did not think injuries was a consern. Together with bringing in a new left back the main priority was to get some of the deadwood out. Asked about Poulsen he smiled and politely refused to comment. My mate got a clear indication that from now on, the club will have a different focusing towards the players we want to get rid of (IMO Poulsen, Degen, Insua, Pacheco, Cole) If no injurycrisis they will not get any time on the pitch for the first VI any more. But, as we all now, they are on big wages and it is very difficult to get rid of. But with the change of attitude towards them it may be easier. I don't know why it has not been done before preseason. If we can get rid of 2 or more of those players my mate got a feeling after speaking to Comolli that we would try to bring in more than just a left back. I know most of this is old news, but I was really surprised that a new CD was not a priority.
