It's not an admirable quality. If you are in a position to negotiate your salary, go for what makes you happy. If someone else gets more and that now makes you unhappy, then you're a greedy prick. If you let that greed get in the way of you or the team doing the job you are handsomely paid to do, then you should f*** off.

FA Cup final 86. We'd gone down on the Friday and ended up crashing in a barn in a school field in Wembley. It had high jump and pole vault beds in it so it was quite comfy (one of the locals had mentioned it to us in the boozer as a possible place to kip). 3 of us, a bottle of rum and a bottle of vodka (plus the ale already consumed) and it got a bit messy. I don't think one of the neighbouring houses appreciated my mate knocking on the kitchen window at daft o'clock, asking for a light. The booze managed to rid us of our fears that the lads in the pub would burn us out of the barn during the night. We woke up the next morning to find that one of the lads had puked in his boots (discarded during the night) as well as pissing himself. I also smelled of piss and was a bit damp in the trousers but I reckon someone pissed on me during the night . Walking around Wembley on the Saturday morning was not a pleasantly aromatic experience. We managed to get into the arena and use the facilities to clean ourselves up enough before getting knocked back at the ground for having forged tickets (we did get in eventually).
