Keeping him in August on the premise that he would play more, after his early season contribution, was abusive. He has never had a run of games, (runs of 5 minute cameos aside) with which we would usually judge a player. A few sporadic starts over 18 months. If it was fitness management after a year then why did they keep him at all. And do we trust Slot to fitness manage the squad when he would play Gakpo with leprosy? Most of our players look s*** at the moment and Slot has failed to get a tune out or any of the younger players, so the “Chiesa isn’t good enough” chat can do one - if you are blaming the management and coaches for wider player performance. He will do fine in Italy and hopefully they make the World Cup.
