Juventus I dunno, that's Rafa's problem - where to play Gerrard. He obviously feels he hasn't got the discipline to play the midfield holding role so sticks him out wide.

I think Rafa's philosophy of having two holding midfielders works ok if you have two attacking wingers and a creative forward ala Bergkamp - unfortunately, as yet, we have neither.

Great clips, fantastic player. If only he'd have run to the corner flag against the Arsenal in '89, we'd have 19 titles now.

Not advocating Finnan moving to left back but it's certainly not a ridiculous suggestion. Take Denis Irwin for example, right footed, originally played at right back - turned out to be one of the best left backs in the game.

Yep, I 'd say he pocketed himself a nice signing on fee of around £2 million. Ooh, you cynic. Although there does seem to be a pattern emerging.

Been a great servant to the club and can still be useful as backup. Before he came here I used to shudder whenever the opposition crossed a high ball in to our area.

Agree with that but can you imagine the media circus if Gerrard was dropped. It's bad enough when he's played 'out of position'.

Glad someone else has mentioned it cos he was extremely poor. How he didn't get a hand to Henry's goal I'll never know.
