Why didn't he name a provisional squad instead of distinguishing between the 23 and the back ups? This way he could have kept his options open and not alienate the likes of Defoe until he absolutely had to.

I thought there was a cut off date for announcing provisional squads. So did Sven the genius even have to announce this yesterday? Surely he would have been better off waiting as long as possible before deciding, given the injury problems.

Of the European teams maybe Italy or the Germans ( the home nation vote ) but I honestly can't see anything other than a South American victory.

Zidane has been poor by his high standards this season, plus he's been injured a lot. Vieira seems to have gone backwards since he's moved to Juve. I just don't think that their pool of players have the strength in depth required to win the World Cup. It's hard to look beyond Brazil or Argentina.

Yeah very suspect at the back. They just don't have the depth they had a couple of years back. Very difficult to see them doing anything in Germany.
