  1. "We" (unfortunately i mean Kop (Cayman), Kop (Football) and LFC) owe £350 million* in total to RBS. If one of these companies owes money to the other, it's a positive on one balance sheet and a negative on another - it all balances out in the end. As far as I can tell, the only significant debt on the club (not the holding companies) was lent by Kop(Football) and this can't be recalled if it causes any financial trouble to LFC. Of course this doesn't mean that G&H can't skim off profits to pay the interest on the debt incurred from buying the club, it just means that if the worst does happen we aren't in as a bad a position as we could be. I hate to say it but the best we can realistically hope for now is for Gillett and Hicks to stick around for a while without rocking the boat too much. *If that's the true figure.
  2. I'm a member and I'm not offended. They've no need to apologise to - or for - me.
  3. I still don't understand why he didn't employ someone to run the stadium build. Have them responsible for raising money, pushing through planning permission and getting it built. When we're in and I've got my season ticket, send him packing with a bonus of a couple of million. Edited to move me 'of's about
  4. If RBS have loaned Kop (Cayman) the money, then it will be Kop (Cayman) that will be put in to administration. Its one asset - LFC - will be sold off and then it will be wound down. If the club were liable for £100 million then the club is worth £100 million less than if it were debt free. Imagine you were offered a house worth £200,000 but you had to pay off the £100,000 left on the mortgage as part of the deal. You wouldn't give the owners £300k. It's all academic anyway. There's not a chance that RBS will pull the money. It's clear we can afford the payments so the worst that can happen is that they upset a few Liverpool fans who always knew they were grasping at straws. If they take ownership of us then it's a different matter entirely because now it's Gordon Brown cast in the David Moores role. Except it's not just us who care now, it's every tax-payer in this country. If we're sold for the cost of the debt there will be mancs, evertonians and god knows who else shouting from the rooftops. We'll see endless Daily Mail comment pieces rehashing stereotypes about Liverpudlians relying on government handouts. If we were to be sold for more, then Brown runs the risk of pissing off every Liverpool fan in the country by not selling to a billion philanthropist. Not to mention that every government overspend is now seen as the reason we didn't sign David Villa. He can't win so he won't allow it to happen.
  5. I think they have about 2000 members (me included). I read on another forum that the recent committee elections cost about £4.50 per head. Include the cost of the membership packs, postage and running the website and you're soon approaching £10. There is absolutely no evidence to suggest that SOS are using union funds other than for their constitutional aims.

  7. Have you tried calling the ticket office? According to this there are returns available.
  8. There was something in the paper the other day about Cruyff taking over as Director of Football. Hope its true.
  9. About 12 I think.

By what standards is Reina not world class?
  11. Think you're right Think you're right Think you're right - hope to god you're right. From what I've heard, Rafa rates Crouch but doesn't approve of his lifestyle. I still think he'll be here in January and if he gets shut of his girlfriend, he'll be here in January 2009.

  16. I doubt it. He's dead.
  17. From Sky Sports Liverpool are reportedly ready to secure first option on Real Betis starlet Juande, as part of a deal that will take Mark Gonzalez back to Spain. Real Betis are believed to be leading the chase for the Chilean winger who has also been linked with Real Zaragoza and Real Sociedad - where he spent time on loan last year. Sevillian sources claim that Betis are lining up a ?3.5million (£2.3million) deal for Gonzalez. Liverpool are ready to do business, but as part of the move Rafa Benitez is looking to line-up a deal for Juande. The 20-year-old midfielder, who made the breakthrough into the Betis first at the end of last season, is seen as one of the brightest prospects in La Liga. Juande is a defensive midfielder, a position Liverpool are currently well stocked, but Benitez is building for the future and would seemingly be more than happy with letting the youngster develop at Betis for at least another season.
  18. Thousands? Really? From what I've heard we had a lot of d****eads out there, but Sky are doing a decent enough job of diverting the attention away from UEFA without this sort of talk.
  19. The free tickets?
  20. The panel didn't discuss Mascherano's situation in much detail but from what I can work out you're quite correct. We have a loan deal with an option to buy at a set fee. The Premier League have no problem with this kind of deal. I think the reason why our deal with Mascherano is acceptable and Tevez's isn't, is because Mascherano plays for LFC until we decide he doesn't; with Tevez, he plays for West Ham until MSI decides he doesn't.
  21. I assume you think Gerrard playing off Kuyt? It wouldn't surprise me at all but I can't see three forwards on the bench. Think Arbeloa (or Riise) would get the nod ahead of one of Bellamy, Crouch or Fowler.
  22. Rafa certainly seems to trust Zenden in the big games doesn't he? If Kewell doesn't start I think we'll definitely see him play (unless we're battering AC). I also think Robbie will be on the bench: because of pens, because he's more likely to do something than Gonzalez, and because I think Rafa has a little romantic streak that would love Fowler to score the winner.
  23. We should sign that Carson.
  24. We'd trounce them with 11 players - after last time we need to make it even more interesting.
