I think his confidence in himself is OK, it would be good if it helped some supporters to have confidence in him... but judging by a few responses in here and the match thread it wont make any difference. Shame, as said above what more do you want from a 21yo away against the Mancs?

Go Lucas! Good again for me. Not spectacular, but you dont hammer them at home with a passenger in the team. Alonso-lite again - not Alonso I agree, but a lot younger with time to get there. No need for slating whatsoever.

Excellent job from Lucas last night, and in replacing Alonso I think we saw where Rafa sees how Lucas fits the picture - he definitely settled our midfield and we looked more in control once he got his game going, decent tackling and passing, and it was really great to see him full of confidence stepping up to take care of all the set pieces. Such a shame he didn't quite get the fifth!

It's a weird one this, and while there is undoubtedly a story (that being Agger's contract is winding down and for whatever reason it's taking time to agree a new one, other clubs are taking notice), the rest of it does seem very out of sorts for Danny Agger. Going back to his time at Brondby he's not a mercenary type whatsoever, he's not some spoiled full of himself young idiot, he has always come across as a good lad with a steady head and good family behind him, solid working class lad. He has repeatedly said that he likes the city of Liverpool, is happy to stay here until he goes home again, is comfortable with the people and the type of place it is (contrast Milan...). Of course he has to think of his pocket too, but I honestly believe he wants to stay as Tony Barrett seems to be saying.

Probably a 2 horse race now and I have to say I think that's fantastic! Anyone who thought we'd get away with getting back to the top of the pile without taking United down was kidding themselves. Maybe we won't win it this season and they will, but if the future is going to shape up as us vs them I'm in!
