Exactly. I think Neville is in a state of arrested development and retains a sulky, spoilt teenage attitude. The fact that his first thought was to goad the Liverpool fans rather than celebrate with his own team or fans speaks volumes. However, overall, I find the whole episode mildly funny, especially given the level of abuse that many players from all clubs take from supporters of all other clubs. I thought punishing Robbie Fowler for the line sniffing episode was a humourless à la the ref booking Gascoigne for showing him the yellow card. Neville, however, seems a bit short on sense of humour. I don't think he should be fined or banned, just told to grow up.
