ooh that brings back painful memories. James was surely bought off!!!!
-
i didnt get that one either!

a few american phrases aside i dont think i could have been more impressed really. i know "proof of the pudding" and all that but they said all the right things so far, theyre keeping continuity, they are really including Rafa in the process and they are already taking the piss out of Carra's accent. Good start

Agreed, hate to slag dudek off but he was disgraceful out there. 2nd was a joke but third one actually made me suspicious...

we ve got bloody barcalona! feckin united getting lille

do these jokes have to be so crude?

totally agree, even though i have seen worse liverpool performances over the years (and even this season), saturday was one where i found myself really cheesed off, to put it mildly. Not only was the crossing absolutely shocking, but when we did have set pieces and corners there is just too much short passing and added interplay before teh inevitable poor cross came in. if confidence is low and your defenders are up there, get the frigging ball in the mix! also if pennant and gonzalez's crossing was so poor, why didnt stevie or xabi take the ball off them? just keep to fickin basics when confidence is down please! you really needed to see the full 90 to get the true picture. the MOTD highlights made us look ok which wasnt a true reflection of the game (although we should have won as we domnated possession incidentally, all the people slagging off gerrard for playing on the right, maybe rafa sees what we are all seeing? we;re better off with stevie there (if momo and xabi are fit) as pennant is low on confidence. i dont blame rafa at all for playing stevie on teh right if that was his diagnosis

bloody hell some people are never happy. So what? Squeeze the life out of the game. we are well behind and we have to be ruthlessy efficient and not give other teams a sniff, especially as we are trying to rebuild dented confidence. crap topic

totally agree. lets give gerrard some praise for a change

i think its been a horrendous combination of variables that have scuppered us: 1. World cup fatigue and the international fixtures. yes i know other teams have had that but combine that with.... 2. the effect the international fixtures have had on blending in and acclimatising the high numbers of new squad members. this means the chance to get them used to rafas ideas in training have been severely disrupted 3. we started the season with lots of away games (bad enough) against some of the hardest teams to play (Bolton, Everton, Man U, even having Sheffield Utd on day one was like a cup final for them etc) if we'd had a cushier opening to the season like say, Man U with no international fixtures to disrupt us, then the players would have had a smoother introduction to the team and the league in some cases and that would have given us the chance to get up a head of steam and confidence ahead of those tough away fixtures. so whilst its likely we wont win the league this year, as rafa has said from the start the disruptions meant we wouldnt see the best of the team until November, which seems to be happening almost right on cue. Plus we 've already gotten lots of our worst fixtures out of the way. So i can see why purple nose is worried about us being fresh at the end and having an easy run in. Dont forget that despite all these factors weve hit the woodwork umpteen times and really should have finished off teams like Chelsea which would have put us in a far better situation than we are in now. So i really believe we will still be easily in at least the top 4 this year despite the start and if this sounds like a lack of progress i think we will see a more settled, familiarised and experienced squad next year, hopefully with good funding in place but even if not, maybe there will still be the chance to spend on one or two really class players rather than trying to frantically rebuild the squad on stretched resources, which is whats happened so far. plus theres no summer competition so they can get a good rest and pre season. so its all good and rafa is the man to do it!

If they can keep hold of Dave Jones then things could turn out ok. Best thing that happened to the club in years.. Risdale... Don't know, watching an interview on BBC Wales the other day and he seems to have a point to prove. Hope he does'nt f.ck up again. Who are Swansea?

Liverpool top of the league; chelsea propping up table
Mevster replied to growler's topic in Liverpool FC
feckin ashley cole. what a nob. even the title make me laugh, whinging ahole -
well said. i find the article and the suggestion staggering. if nothing else, rafa even said it would be a struggle until november. we've had almost all our hardest away fixtures in one go when we had a set of new players trying to be bedded in and all the international break ups didnt help either. add to that teh number of times we've hit the woodwork and things could have been completelty different. This board member should ask who else in the world has rafas record with the budgets he has had. numpties! furthermore, how can they say inflated prices? bellamy was basically half price, aureilo and zenden were frees, lots of other clubs were interested in kuty, people said crouch was overpriced but look at him now. the only one people think might have been overpriced is pennant but rafa had been looking for two years for a right winger, turned down alves for being overpriced and had to pay what he did to birmingham because i belive they still had to pay some fo the transfer fee to arsenal. sissoko is looking one of the buys of the decade and im sure agger will be too. at least get it frickin right!

Hang on, get rid of Rafa and bring in who? Who else is going to come in and do any better? Rafa is the man, he's brought in quite a few new players but the more established players are not playing up to their level. Is that Rafa's fault? If anything I would like to see a run of pretty much the same side and get some wins under our belt, then maybe start rotating a bit. I'm sure in a months time we'll have bellamy and kuyt on fire, alonso gerrard and sissoko back on form, our defence back to where they were last year and we'll go on a decent run. Remember from the end of October onwards last season we picked up more points than Chelsea. To me that showed that Rafa is the best person to challenge. He'll be hurt tonight but all the time he'll be learning more and more who will and won't cut it in his team. When he gets his players together for more than a few days at a time he will get it right. He got Traore a Champions league medal for f.cks sake! KEEP THE FAITH IN RAFA!

disappointed with pennant though i was willing him to do well. had loads of the ball and plenty of opps to cross but aside from crouches header he didnt hurt them enough with the chances he had. i was hoping rafa would move stevie or bring someone in after 60-65 mins. still hope he does well, i was glad when we bought him but i think he and bellamy (and before too long kuyt) need a special game / goal to get their confidence up. it will come.
-
youre right, he is really exciting. how the mirror gave him a 6 is beyond me. wasnt at fault for the goal, excellent in distribution and his goal line clearance was as good and brave as anything youll see all year. yes the odd positioning error but feck me it was against the top team in the country (statistically in the league anyway). he is having a flying start to the season,

i fecking hate that chant and had been moaning about it yesterday. i have to say i first heard it at the stamford bridge fixture last year and as we were surrendering the game and i first i hated it because i did feel it was embarassing for us - like we were so bad they couldnt even be arsed to come up with a witty put down. now i realise thats all the brainless numpties can think of so it just makes me hate them even more. losers.

ive already ready got my unborn child, due november, his or her first liverpool kit ready and waiting. ive even got the missus knowing the full first team squad now (Pepe's her favourite). So if the little f***** sings blue is the f***ing colour its out on the street! no pressure.
