  1. i think hed lose a lot of the goodwill from the liverpool fans who dont bear grudges about him leaving liverpool in the first place. i think an interesting question could be whether his legacy in the memory of fans is less important than the number of medals in his draw, regardless of who he won them with i was definitely thinking along those lines. ive been weighing up the whole "is he sick of talking footy and would he rather talk about his hobbies and interests for a change" versus "hes there to talk football, so ask him"
  2. thats class! that wins!
  3. a bold statement that! will the floodgates open in response!?
  4. good questions. im interested about the fowler angle. he talks like they got on but i always used to think fowler would often try and not pass to him. i think it was a cup game v newcastle in particular where robbie seemed to ignore him all game and the first time he passed to owen in extra time owen scored and we went through. i think now that robbies lost pace and tends to drop a bit deeper now, i think they would compliment each other better than before. good question that. thanks case!
  5. i quite like that question, coming from the pro-owen side of things. it would be interesting to know what prompted the move. if figaro is right and owens agent approached madrid, what happened that summer to change his mind. his autobiography ends just as stevie agrees to stay (the first time) and there is no mention of discontent from owen. thats why i thought owen's comments about benitez being more focused on gerrard suggested his nose was put out of joint. hopefully he wont care as he'll have come home.
  6. these are my brother's questions for what it's worth: 1. "which footballer do you hate the most - its gary neville isnt it?" a beautifully loaded question 2. "who is the thickest footballer youve ever met and whats the thickest thing he's ever done?" probably rooney and joining the scum / "always a blue" t shirt
  7. it does amaze me how angry people still are with him for leaving. i understand the reasons, but ultimately he scored a feck load of goals for us, gave us amazing memories - cup final 2001 for one, he didnt cost us anything and he had a chance to live abroad and play for real madrid, one of the few clubs as big as us. ive lived abroad and it was an amazing, life changing experience, so i for dont begrudge him for that. the more worrying question if you read elisa's comments is "would you ever play for man utd" do you really think thats true rushian? do you mean from a charity viewpoint etc? "egg in my colon" question?
  8. yeah they re pretty good. i cant imagine hed admit to making a mistake leaving liverpool, he'll know doubt talk about the experience of being abroad etc. he MUST do deep down, surely? he's very close with his agent isnt he? thats a good question ta Kev

  10. Well i wouldnt want him. i do think hes a fantastic player but come on, hes a right up himself c***. maybe that would make me a bad manager but hes not a "liverpool" player to me. hilarious if its all true though and i cant blame him. stamford bridge is a s****hole and their fans are uninspiring and dull.
  11. my favourite player gets his just rewards congrats stevie!!! next time youre in town, give us a bell, ill buy you drink
  12. i cant understand anyone wanting arsenal to win the cl. we'll get more "they were lucky" and arsenal will get "daring triumph playing beautiful football with young superstars" blah blah zzzzzzzz at the moment liverpool have won every european trophy won by a british club since the turn of the millenium and long may that continue! feck off arsenal, blow it all, lose henry and keep out of our way next season.
  13. genius!
  14. im halfway through reading it / halfway through being mugged. it is pretty lame. as everyone says, a bland chronological story of stevies career and there are loads of s*n quotes in there which i find quite staggering. good news about the winter book though elisha, i'll definitely be getting that one. liverpool book ive enjoyed most recently is "a season on the brink", some really good inside sources from players and staff. read it in a day, really disappointed when i finished it
  15. same here. i think maybe because what happened last year was so absolutely incredible and memorable etc that maybe i thought it was too much to expect the same to happen this year even to the point where i almost felt too greedy to wish for it. of course had we won it again i would have gotten over that guilt!
  16. Oh man, thats not good news. Elisha, if you dont mind me asking what do you make of all this rafa leaving news and what do the players think / know? i wonder if rafa would ever think "feck it, chelseas just have too much money for it to be even nearly a level playing field, i might as well go to a different league"? im sure he wont, he took on barca and real in similar circumstances but blimey, its somewhat demoralising
  17. Best wishes to Gary and his family at this extremely sad time. YNWA

Im blind in one eye from birth and i could play to sport to a good (although admittedly not professional) level including Welsh schoolboys cricket (no jokes please). cricket is a very side on game and i was (am) blind in the worst eye for cricket. the difference and difficulty here is when you are used to having vision in 2 eyes and then readjusting to one. whatever happens i really hope and am confident that momo will be back. he's young and talented and will adapt whatever happens YNWA Momo!
  19. disappointed as i like flo and i dont rate cisse, but i guess if he isnt going to get much of a look in id rather he get more experience in the english league than in france. i think as previous posters have said, with kewell, garcia and even stevie and the other 4 we should be covered.
  20. ive been trying to find out the name of a piece of classical music for ages (for work) and lo and behold it was on sky sports for the sunderland game last night. i think it was the sunderland dj actually playing it. any of you highbrow types know whats it called? cheers!
